Debt Recovery Account Manager \n Location: Hatfield \n An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a Hatfield based business as an office-based Account Manager in Debt Collections. \n This is a leading business to business Debt Recovery firm that has seen steady and continuous growth in recent years. This growth has created the requirement for additional staff to fulfil the above role. \n An exciting time to join the company! Looking especially to hear from applicants with a debt collection background, or applicants who have held customer-facing roles within the utilities sector. \n Day-to-day of the role: \n\n • Manage a portfolio of accounts, focusing on the recovery of debts related to utilities: gas or electricity supplies.\n, • Engage with businesses by phone call, letter, email, and SMS to pursue unpaid debts and discuss repayment options.\n, • Understand and address disputes, queries, or complaints to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.\n, • Maintain awareness and compliance with industry regulations and standards.\n, • Respond promptly to both debtor and client inquiries within agreed service standards.\n, • Negotiate payment plans or settlements that align with client interests.\n, • Maintain professional liaisons with clients, ensuring effective communication and relationship management.\n\n Required Skills & Qualifications: \n\n • Confident, positive, and firm demeanour, with a polite and professional approach.\n, • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.\n, • Effective listening skills with an enquiring, questioning, and investigative nature.\n, • Business and commercial awareness.\n, • Ability to remain professional and composed under pressure.\n, • Proficient IT skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.\n, • Adaptability to different situations.\n, • Experience in debt collections, arrears management, or the utility industry is highly desirable.\n\n Benefits: \n\n • Competitive starting salary, negotiable based on experience (up to £30,000 per annum if experienced). \n, • Performance-related bonus of up to £6k per annum - realistically very achievable.\n, • Standard working hours of 35-hour week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.\n, • Opportunity to join a growing business with a strong industry track record.\n, • Support for professional development within the company.\n\n This is a growing business with a track record of success in the industry, and a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation that will value your contributions and assist in your development.
