Crime and Regulatory Solicitor – Manchester – Up to £70,000 \n \n A respected UK law firm with a strong practice in criminal, regulatory and enforcement law is looking to recruit a Crime and Regulatory Solicitor to join its growing team in Manchester. \n \n This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with experience in criminal or regulatory work to handle a varied caseload of complex and sensitive matters. You will advise a diverse range of clients, including organisations, businesses and public sector bodies, on investigations, enforcement action and regulatory proceedings. \n \n The role offers excellent exposure to challenging work, advocacy opportunities and the chance to develop your career within a supportive and expanding specialist team. \n \n The Role: \n \n\n • Manage a varied caseload of criminal, regulatory and enforcement matters\n, • Advise clients throughout investigations, enforcement proceedings and prosecutions\n, • Review documentary evidence and assist with complex investigations\n, • Take witness statements and conduct interviews under caution where appropriate\n, • Prepare cases for hearings and liaise with relevant stakeholders, including regulators and investigators\n, • Undertake advocacy in the Magistrates' Court and, where appropriate, the Crown Court\n, • Advise clients on evidence, engagement with regulators, interviews under caution and plea options\n, • Develop practical case strategies and provide clear, commercially focused advice\n, • Manage matters from initial instruction through to conclusion, ensuring deadlines and client requirements are met\n, • Work collaboratively with colleagues on complex and high-profile matters\n, • Support and supervise junior lawyers, trainees and paralegals where appropriate\n, • Develop and maintain strong client relationships\n, • Contribute to business development, networking and the continued growth of the practice\n\n \n About You: \n \n\n • A Qualified Solicitor around 2–5 years' PQE with experience in criminal, regulatory or enforcement law\n, • Experience managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision\n, • Confident appearing in the Magistrates' Court; Crown Court advocacy experience would be advantageous\n, • Strong drafting, analytical and case management skills\n, • Comfortable handling complex and sensitive matters\n, • Excellent communication and client relationship skills\n, • A collaborative approach with an interest in supporting and developing junior colleagues\n, • Commercially aware with a practical and solutions-focused approach\n, • Highly organised and able to manage competing deadlines and priorities\n, • Proactive, motivated and keen to develop your career within a specialist crime and regulatory practice\n\n \n The Benefits: \n \n\n • Salary up to £70,000, depending on experience\n, • Generous annual leave entitlement with holiday purchase options\n, • Annual bonus scheme\n, • Competitive employer pension contributions\n, • Hybrid and flexible working\n, • Private medical insurance and dental cover\n, • Life assurance\n, • Enhanced family leave\n, • Professional development and career progression opportunities\n\n \n Apply in the strictest of confidence online and or via telephone. \n \n Contact Danielle Lawton Retained Consultant \n \n Direct Dial: 0161 826 3140 Mobile: 0737 602 8332 \n Email: Danielle.Lawton@williamjamesrecruitment.com
