JOB DESCRIPTION The Company: We are an internationally recognised leader in the design and manufacture of Rigid Inflatable Boats for both the commercial and leisure sectors. From our base in Cushendall, County Antrim, we export to more than 20 countries and have boats operating from Svalbard in the Arctic to the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean. Job Title: Fitter Responsible To: Niall McLaughlin Operations Manager Status: 45 hours per week (8amto5.15pmdaily-MondaytoFriday) Pay: Up to £18 per hour, depending on experience Location: Redbay Boats Limited, 1 Gortaclee Road, Cushendall, Co. Antrim, BT44 OTE Main Area of Responsibility: Thispositionwillinvolveworkingcloselyundertheguidanceofhighlyexperiencedfittersandboatbuilders. Thesuccessfulcandidatewillbeexpectedtolearnestablishedmethods,techniquesandstandardsthatare specific to Redbay Boats. Giventhenatureofourwork,thestandardoffinishiscritical.Muchofwhatisfittedremainsvisibleand accessibletothecustomer,meaningaconsistentlyhighstandardofworkmanship,neatnessandattention to detail is essential from the outset. Weareopentoapplicantsatalllevelsandareparticularlykeentohearfrompeoplewithpractical experienceonthetoolsinelectricalorconstructiontrades.Fullin-housetrainingwillbeprovidedonallelementsofthejob,soalackofmarineexperienceneednotruleyouout. The key requirement is attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to meet Redbay standards. Speci?c Responsibilities: Install, route and terminate wiring looms, electrical systems, navigation equipment and electronics. Fit and commission inboard and outboard engines, including controls, steering and fuel systems. Carryoutmechanicalfittingofcomponents,fixturesandfittingsacrosstheboat. Assistwithgeneralboatbuildingtasks,includingtheassemblyandinstallationofconsoles,seating, deck hardware and ancillary equipment. Readandworkfromdrawings,schematicsandbuildspecifications. Learn and apply Redbay Boats' established methods, techniques and quality standards. Maintainaconsistentlyhighstandardofworkmanship,neatnessandfinish. Carry out testing and fault-finding on completed installations under supervision. Keep tools, equipment and the work area clean, organised and safe. Work flexibly across the production team and support colleagues as required. Personnel Speci?cation - Minimum Requirements: Practical, hands-on experience on the tools preferred, ideally within the electrical, mechanical or construction trades. Competentandconfidentintheuseofhandandpowertools. Willingness to learn and develop technical skills. Goodattentiontodetailandprideinworkmanship. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Positive attitude, reliable, punctual and safety conscious. Marine or boat building experience is desirable, but not essential.
