Graduate / Trainee Quantity Surveyor Location: Spalding, Lincolnshire Salary: £28,000 per annum Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time A construction company based in Spalding is looking to recruit a Graduate or Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in quantity surveying. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, allowing you to develop practical commercial experience while working alongside experienced construction professionals. The Role As a Graduate / Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will assist with the commercial and financial management of construction projects. Your responsibilities will include: • Assisting with the preparation of estimates and quotations, • Obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor prices, • Supporting the preparation of tender documents, • Assisting with project cost monitoring and reporting, • Helping to prepare valuations, variations and final accounts, • Reviewing drawings, specifications and project information, • Attending project and site meetings when required, • Maintaining accurate commercial and project records, • Working closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers The Candidate This position would suit a recent graduate or someone at the beginning of their construction career. Applicants should ideally have: • A degree, HNC, HND or similar qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related subject, • A genuine interest in developing a career in quantity surveying, • Good numerical and analytical skills, • Strong attention to detail, • Good communication and organisational skills, • A willingness to learn and develop, • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office software Previous construction experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
