Night Team Leader / Senior Support Worker Location: Alfreton, Derbyshire Pay: £12.85 per hour Hours: 33 or 38.5 hours per week Shifts: Nights We are recruiting an experienced Night Team Leader / Senior Support Worker for a 28-bed residential care service supporting adults aged 18 and over. This is a hands-on senior role combining direct care with shift leadership, medication support, care-plan input, audits, risk assessments and the mentoring of other Support Workers. The role You will help ensure that service users receive safe, respectful and person-centred support throughout the night. Your responsibilities will include: • Leading the night shift and supporting other members of the care team, • Protecting the rights, dignity, health and safety of service users, • Supporting individuals with their daily routines and activities, • Monitoring service users and maintaining a safe environment, • Encouraging independence, rehabilitation and self-care, • Assisting with medication administration where required, • Contributing to care plans and reviewing standards of care, • Completing audits, risk assessments and relevant records, • Supporting the induction, training and mentoring of new employees, • Handling or auditing service-user monies at the beginning and end of shifts, • Completing weekly fire checks and maintaining the fire-safety records, • Working alongside management and multidisciplinary professionals About you To be considered, you should have: • Strong previous experience working as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker, • Experience supporting vulnerable adults, • The confidence to lead a shift and resolve day-to-day issues, • Experience administering or supporting with medication, • Good communication and record-keeping skills, • A calm, patient and reliable approach, • Relevant health and social care qualifications, • The flexibility to work contracted night shifts What is available • £12.85 per hour, • 33 or 38.5 contracted hours per week, • Regular night shifts, • A senior position within an established adult care service, • The opportunity to take responsibility for shift leadership and staff development Apply today and we will be in touch in due course
