Were looking to appoint two experienced and commercially focused Buyers to join our growing and vibrant Buying team on site in Winsford. We have a full time and part time vacancy available. This is a hybrid role and you will work at our office in Winsford at least 2 days a week.This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with suppliers, analysing data, managing stock and identifying commercial opportunities. Youll play an important role in ensuring we have the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time and at the right value.Working closely with the Purchasing Manager and wider Buying team, youll also collaborate with Commercial, Customer Service, Warehouse and group colleagues to improve availability, supplier performance, product quality and overall business performance.If youre a Buyer who wants to make a genuine impact, wed love to hear from you.About the Role Manage stock availability and ensure purchasing activity supports departmental KPIs.Forecast future inventory levels and identify potential stock shortages.Monitor inventory health, including excess and ageing stock.Analyse purchasing, supplier and stock data to support effective decision-making.Manage purchasing activity, including ordering, tendering and supplier negotiations.Identify opportunities to improve value for money and reduce purchasing costs.Manage supplier relationships and work with vendors and distributors to improve service levels and commercial outcomes.Monitor supplier performance, lead times and issue resolution.Support the sourcing of new suppliers and identify new commercial opportunities.Work with suppliers and internal teams to support first-to-market new product introductions.Develop and grow our own-brand product offering.Monitor product quality and work with suppliers to resolve faults and issues.Work closely with the Commercial team to optimise pricing, availability and new product opportunities.Maintain purchasing schedules, orderbooks, pricelists, tender outcomes and product information.Support purchasing cash flow, monitor supplier debts, rebates and cash recovery.Keep up to date with market developments, supplier activity, freight costs, currency movements and product trends.Attend trade shows and identify new products and suppliers where appropriate.Benefits Competitive salary with annual salary reviews30 days annual leave with an additional day of leave for each full year spent with the company, up to 35 days per yearOne day birthday leave each yearDeath in service insurance at 3 x annual salaryPensionSimply Health PlanGenerous long service cash rewards from 5 years of serviceCycle to work schemeDiscounted Gym MembershipsStaff discount on productsStaff referral scheme with cash rewardsGP access and mental health counselling supportYearly flu vaccinationsSpecsavers vision/ eye careFree parking with easy access to rail and bus routesFun and exciting social and team building eventsCasual dressRequirements A minimum of 3 years + proven experience purchasing goods at scale, domestically and internationally.Strong commercial awareness and market understanding.Excellent analytical and numerical skills, experience analysing data and using it to make purchasing decisions.Strong negotiation and relationship-management skills.Excellent communication skills.Confidence using IT systems and purchasing/business systems.A proactive approach, with the initiative to identify problems and commercial opportunities.Adaptability and the ability to respond effectively to changing business requirements.TPBN1_UKTJ
