Your work will directly support people and communities, ensuring properties are maintained to the highest standards and gas safety is never compromised.Working across the Midlands and East of England, this role combines technical expertise with purpose. From installations and breakdowns to safety checks and audits, your contribution helps create secure living environments and delivers a positive impact every day. To support you in the role, Serco will provide a company van for private use, as well as the tools required to perform at your best.What you’ll do as a Gas EngineerYou’ll be entrusted to:Carry out boiler servicing, installations, maintenance, fault finding and breakdown repairs in line with Gas Safe regulationsComplete gas safety inspections and certifications, ensuring accurate records are maintainedDiagnose gas system issues and carry out effective, compliant repairsProvide technical advice and support to non-trade maintenance colleaguesLiaise with external subcontractors, auditing work quality and standardsUse internal systems to report faults, manage jobs, and provide feedback and cost informationDoes this sound like you?You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:Gas Safe registration and a recognised gas industry qualificationLevel 3 NVQ or Diploma in Domestic Natural Gas Installation and Maintenance, Gas Utilisation, or Plumbing and Heating (gas-fired appliances), or equivalentStrong diagnostic skills and a sound understanding of domestic gas safetyA methodical, safety-focused approach and the ability to work independentlyA full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel within the regionVetting and checksThis role requires BPSS clearance, which involves identity verification, employment history, and criminal record checks to meet government security standards.
