Medical Affairs Coordinator (MAC) \n 📍 Basingstoke (Head Office) - 3 days per week \n 📌 Department: Medical Affairs \n \n About the Role \n An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced IIR Associate to join a global Medical Affairs organisation supporting Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) studies across an international region. \n This role is responsible for coordinating and monitoring externally sponsored research studies, ensuring compliance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and study milestones throughout the study lifecycle. \n The successful candidate will work closely with investigators, affiliates, Medical Affairs teams, finance, and operational partners to ensure studies remain on track, compliant, and inspection-ready. \n \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Serve as the primary point of contact for affiliates and stakeholders regarding ongoing IIR studies\n, • Coordinate the maintenance and oversight of investigator-sponsored research projects\n, • Negotiate and manage study contracts and contract amendments\n, • Track study milestones, enrolment, timelines, and financial metrics\n, • Support budget forecasting and payment coordination\n, • Maintain inspection readiness across all study documentation and systems\n, • Manage study close-out activities and final deliverables\n, • Coordinate with investigators on regulatory submissions and documentation\n, • Monitor study risks and facilitate escalation processes where required\n, • Support drug supply planning, feasibility assessments, and forecasting\n, • Ensure compliance with Medical Affairs, quality, and research governance procedures\n\n \n Essential Requirements \n\n • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, life sciences, healthcare, or related discipline\n, • Clinical research experience or equivalent experience supporting clinical studies\n, • Experience with contract management and negotiation\n, • Experience managing invoices, purchase orders, or study finances\n, • Strong project management and organisational skills\n, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills\n, • Experience working with cross-functional and international stakeholders\n, • Strong attention to detail and compliance focus\n\n Preferred Experience \n\n • Medical Affairs experience\n, • Investigator Initiated Study (IIS/IIT/IIR) experience\n, • Knowledge of clinical drug development\n, • Understanding of research regulations and GCP principles\n, • Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) experience\n, • Experience supporting global or regional studies\n, • Working knowledge of medical terminology\n\n
