Quality of Life Homecare Ltd is a well-established and growing domiciliary care provider supporting people across North West London. With approximately 120 employees, we are looking for an experienced and highly organised Senior Payroll and Accounts Officer to manage our payroll and day-to-day finance functions.
This role would particularly suit an experienced payroll manager, finance officer, bookkeeper, or retired/semi-retired accountant seeking a rewarding and flexible part-time position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage weekly and monthly payroll for approximately 120 employees
  • Ensure accurate PAYE, National Insurance, pension, and HMRC submissions.
  • Administer workplace pensions and auto-enrolment.
  • Process staff expenses and travel claims.
  • Maintain purchase and sales ledgers.
  • Raise invoices and reconcile customer payments.
  • Carry out bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor cash flow, debtor balances, and credit control.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Liaise with the external accountant regarding month-end and year-end accounts.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC, employment legislation, and financial procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll and financial processes.

Essential Requirements

  • At least 5 years' experience in payroll and accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of PAYE, RTI, pensions, and HMRC regulations.
  • Experience using payroll and accounting software such as BrightPay, Xero, or QuickBooks.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
  • High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Desirable

  • AAT qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience within the health or social care sector.
  • Knowledge of payroll for shift workers and variable-hour employees.
