Flat Sheet & Tube Laser Operator

Job Description AES Manufacturing is looking for a CNC Laser Operator to run flat-sheet and tube laser equipment used to produce components for our safety products. The operator is responsible for safe setup, material verification, machine operation, cut quality, part handling, basic troubleshooting, and routine maintenance. Depending on production needs and experience, the primary machine assignment may be flat sheet, tube laser, or both. What You Will Do • Set up and operate AES flat-sheet fiber laser and tube laser equipment according to work orders, programs, and prints. • Verify correct material type, thickness, tube/profile size, orientation, and quantity before processing., • Safely load sheet, tube, pipe, or structural profiles using loaders, cranes, forklifts, or other approved handling equipment. • Monitor cutting performance and make approved adjustments to maintain cut quality and production efficiency. • Remove completed parts, separate sheet skeletons, de-tab, deburr, package, label, and stage parts as required. • Inspect cut dimensions, features, and overall quality using tape measures, calipers, gauges, and prints., • Clean optics and perform routine machine maintenance, consumable checks, and housekeeping., • Troubleshoot routine cutting, material-feed, and machine issues within the operator role and escalate larger problems promptly. • Track job times, quantities, scrap, and material utilization in AES production systems., • Communicate when material, gases, consumables, or tooling are running low., • Support other fabrication equipment or shop duties when production needs require and training allows. What We Are Looking For • Ability to read technical drawings, work orders, and dimensions., • Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32 inch and work with decimal measurements., • Ability to identify carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, material thicknesses, and common tube/profile sizes. • Strong attention to machine safety, material handling, cut quality, and part identification., • Ability to work independently in an environment with changing priorities., • Reliable attendance and willingness to work outside the primary machine assignment when needed. Experience That Helps • One or more years of CNC laser experience preferred, especially fiber laser or tube laser., • Two or more years in manufacturing or metal fabrication., • Mazak and BODOR fiber laser experience is a plus., • Experience with CNC controls, nesting/program interfaces, cranes, forklifts, and production software., • Basic machine troubleshooting and preventive-maintenance experience.
