Details\n \n • Work in the MS/Tele Float pool at a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level I trauma status\n, • Float pool covers all acute care and telemetry units, including Behavioral Health, Respite, Ortho/Neuro-Stroke, and Cardiac Tele\n, • Patient ratios range from 1:4-5\n, • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (1900-0730)\n, • Every other weekend required, with flexibility requested\n, • Shifts may be split, such as 8 hours in one area and 4 hours in another, requiring strong time management skills\n, • Floating within scope required to meet facility needs\n, • No on-call requirements\n, • Uses Epic charting system\n, • High volume of ortho floor peripheral nerve catheter cases\n Requirements\n \n, • Active WA RN license or compact license required; pending license accepted\n, • Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele or stepdown experience in a Level I or Level II trauma facility required\n, • Prior travel nursing experience required; minimum of 1 travel contract, no first-time travelers\n, • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required\n, • BSN preferred\n, • Must pass a fill-in-the-blank telemetry proficiency exam at orientation\n, • Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required\n, • Experience with insulin drip titration required\n, • Strong ortho and neuro clinical skills required\n, • Skills in neurological/psychiatric care, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and cardiac monitoring required\n, • Level I trauma experience preferred\n, • Level II trauma experience required\n, • Epic charting experience preferred but not required\n Additional Information\n \n, • Provide nursing care across multiple acute care and telemetry units as part of a float pool\n, • Manage patients with cardiovascular conditions including post cardiac angiogram, post MI, and pre/post cardiac cath or surgery\n, • Care for orthopedic trauma and total joint replacement patients\n, • Manage endocrine/metabolic patients including insulin drip titration\n, • COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions\n, • Scrubs must be a solid color; light blue scrubs provided on unit\n, • RTO cannot be requested during the first two weeks of the assignment, including orientation week\n, • No RTO permitted during Christmas holiday\n, • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays, with 1 major holiday off permitted\n, • Locals accepted at the same bill rate with no radius restriction\n, • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position\n, • Prior UW/Harborview staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a travelers\n, • Manager prefers to avoid travel pairs\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-743815.
