Job DescriptionJob Title: Shipping and Receiving AssociateJob Description The Shipping and Receiving Associate plays a key role in the warehouse operation by accurately moving, tracking, and documenting materials. This position ensures that incoming and outgoing freight is handled efficiently, packaged correctly, and recorded in the inventory system with precise weights, dimensions, and disposal data. Responsibilities • Move materials throughout the warehouse in a safe, efficient, and organized manner., • Track materials within the warehouse, including tagging items, recording inventory data, and documenting weight and dimensions., • Accurately complete all required paperwork and documentation related to shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions., • Sort and segregate all distributions accurately to ensure correct routing and handling of materials., • Load and unload freight from trucks, vans, and other transportation vehicles while verifying that paperwork matches the items being loaded or unloaded., • Perform quality checks on products during loading and unloading to identify and report any potential damage., • Document and update disposal data to ensure all use of the dumpster and material disposal is properly captured., • Pick and pack materials and freight in a timely and orderly manner to meet shipping and receiving schedules., • Use RF scanners to scan, track, and verify materials during picking, packing, shipping, and receiving processes., • Support shipping and receiving operations by organizing packages, preparing items for shipment, and confirming receipt of incoming materials., • Perform cycle counts to help maintain accurate inventory levels and identify discrepancies.Essential Skills, • Experience working in a warehouse or shipping and receiving environment., • Ability to safely move, lift, and handle materials throughout the warehouse., • Strong attention to detail for accurate tagging, inventory tracking, and documentation of weight and dimensions., • Capability to complete paperwork and shipping/receiving documents with a high level of accuracy., • Skill in sorting and segregating materials and distributions correctly., • Experience loading and unloading freight from trucks, vans, and other transportation vehicles., • Ability to perform basic quality checks on products to identify potential damage., • Proficiency in picking and packing materials in a timely and organized manner., • Ability to use RF scanners for scanning, tracking, and verifying materials., • Basic understanding of inventory practices, including cycle counts.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Familiarity with warehouse documentation and record-keeping processes., • Comfort working with basic warehouse technology and equipment such as RF scanners., • Ability to follow established procedures for material disposal and documentation., • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple shipments and inventory tasks., • Reliable work habits and commitment to meeting shipping and receiving deadlines., • Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members in the warehouse.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edison, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
