Job DescriptionJob Title: Test OperatorJob Description The Test Operator supports production units by performing in‑process and final testing on electrical control panels and heat exchange units. In this role, you assist with testing, training, and documentation, troubleshoot and debug electrical faults based on defined metrics, and collaborate closely with electrical assembly technicians to resolve issues. You work in a highly automated environment using test equipment and software tools to ensure products meet quality and compliance standards. Responsibilities • Perform in‑process and final testing on electrical components of control panels and heat exchange units in a manufacturing environment., • Utilize voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other test equipment to verify electrical performance and ensure products meet established specifications., • Troubleshoot, debug, and diagnose electrical faults based on defined metrics, working with the team to identify root causes and implement corrective actions., • Conduct compliance reporting using Excel and maintain accurate test documentation and records., • Collaborate with electrical assembly technicians to resolve issues, suggest possible repairs, and support continuous improvement of processes., • Read, interpret, and apply electrical schematics and prints to guide testing, troubleshooting, and verification activities., • Assist in the build and manufacture of fixtures and tooling as required to meet customer expectations and support production needs., • Operate a personal computer using a Windows-based operating system and related software to perform testing, reporting, and documentation tasks., • Inspect parts and test equipment to ensure proper setup, functionality, and adherence to safety and quality standards., • Work effectively within a production cell environment, contributing to a quiet, team-oriented culture focused on quality and efficiency., • Apply knowledge of current flow, AC/DC principles, and switchgear operation when performing tests and diagnosing issues., • Use hand tools and, where required, microscopes and HMI interfaces to support inspection, testing, and general production activities.Essential Skills, • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in electronics, electromechanical, or electrical testing within a manufacturing environment., • Proven experience performing testing on electrical components and assemblies using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and related test equipment., • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics or prints with proficient knowledge of circuit layouts and current flow., • Knowledge of AC/DC principles and switchgear operation applied to testing and troubleshooting., • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions while working collaboratively with a team., • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for compliance reporting and documentation., • Ability to operate a personal computer using a Windows-based operating system and related software applications., • Strong basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals., • Comfort working in a production manufacturing environment with electrical wiring, inspection, and test operations.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Technical, vocational, or associate degree in a related field may be considered in lieu of hands-on experience, provided there is a solid understanding of required tools and testing methods., • Experience in general production, electrical assembly, or manufacturing operations., • Familiarity with HMI interfaces and microscopes used in inspection and testing., • Experience with building or assisting in the manufacture of fixtures and tooling., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in testing and documentation., • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, quiet, and highly organized production environment.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position follows a weekend night shift schedule, working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. The facility operates under a lockdown environment and is extremely clean and temperature-controlled. The electrical assembly area consists of 11 cell stations with large workspaces, creating a quiet, organized, and team-focused setting. The department currently has approximately 275 employees, with significant growth projected. Attire includes composite toe or steel toe footwear with rubber soles, jeans or work pants, and a t-shirt or polo. Large dangling jewelry, spandex, and bare midriffs are not permitted, supporting safety and professionalism on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.75 - $28.75/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
