Job Description Harbor is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician to join the Port Sylvania ABA Clinic! This individual serves as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and CPST/TBS Provider for clients of Harbor and/or its subsidiaries by providing professional care to children, youth and adults experiencing a severe and persistent mental illness, and their families. This position is part-time, working 35 hours per week, Monday-Thursday 8:30 am-3:30 pm. Education/Experience/Other Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral/mental health field required, or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of a high school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience., • Must complete RBT training course within 60 days of hire., • Must pass examination for Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) as set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) within 6 months of hire., • Must be proficient and accurate in computer use, including Microsoft Word., • Must successfully demonstrate the basic competencies, as determined by your supervisor’s review, within 90 days of hire., • When applicable, non-licensed staff will be required to complete 20 hours of CEUs every 24 months., • Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and show proof of personal auto insurance policy to be deemed insurable with Harbor’s vehicle insurance carrier., • CPR/First Aid and NCI/CPI Certifications required within 90 days of employment. Essential Job Competencies/Primary Duties: • Responsible for the quality and completeness of the clinical record., • Develops and updates Individualized Service Plan (ISP) for each client in coordination with supervisor., • Responsible for accurate and timely documentation which may include but is not limited to: activity/progress notes, ISPs, DPS logs, incident report forms and any other forms necessary to document services., • Types clinical documentation in the format appropriate and acceptable to Harbor, • In providing billable services, fulfills or exceeds unit expectations established by Harbor. Provides Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment service activities: 1. Evaluation • Assesses client needs and formulates a strength-based ISP in conjunction with the client, family and/or significant others, and supervisor., • Crisis prevention / intervention, • Follows crisis prevention/intervention protocols. 1. Ongoing interventions • Provides support, education and consultation to clients, families, and/or significant others., • Provides therapeutic interventions as noted in the ISP to maintain the client in the least-restrictive environment and to enhance client and family functioning., • Monitors clients to identify and minimize effects of psychiatric symptoms., • Provides education on self-management of symptoms to clients, families and/or significant others. 1. Collaboration • Assists the client and family in increasing social support skills and networks., • Coordinates indicated evaluations and assessments by internal and/or external providers., • Coordinates and monitors all services identified in the ISP., • Provides assistance in gaining access to essential community resources. 1. Provides individual and group Therapeutic Behavioral services, including but not limited to: • Treatment Planning., • Identification of strategies or treatment options., • Developing and providing solution focused interventions and emotional and behavioral management drawn from evidence-based psychotherapeutic treatments., • Restoration of social skills., • Restoration of daily functioning., • Crisis prevention and amelioration., • Group services., • Carries and responds to cell phone calls as part of general duties., • May float to other locations to accommodate client or agency need., • Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies and demonstrates continued growth. Additional Mental Health Day Treatment expectations may include: • Provides Therapeutic Behavioral Group services within a day treatment model that may include, but are not limited to, the following: Determination of needed mental health interventions; Skills development; Developing positive coping mechanisms; Managing mental health and behavioral symptoms to enhance vocational/school opportunities and/or independent living; Psycho-educational interventions including individualized instruction and training of persons served in order to increase their knowledge and understanding of their psychiatric diagnosis(es), prognosis(es), treatment, and rehabilitation. Additional Developmental Pediatrics expectations may include: • Collect data accurately and as prescribed by BCBA., • Organize and graph data as required by BCBA., • Carry out interventions, including ABA interventions, and teach caregivers to carry out intervention as prescribed in the behavior plan, • Able to understand and carry out behavior plans as written with BCBA. Additional Outreach Position expectations may include: • Provides CPST/TBS, day treatment, consultation, and other services as needed for individuals located at designated community location (e.g., Cherry Street Mission, schools). Works on-site at designated community location. Assists with program development and engagement in services at community location in coordination with supervisor. Works with supervisor to arrange coverage as needed.
