Job Description Organization Overview Family & Child Empowerment Services (FACES) provides families who live and work in San Francisco with high-quality early childhood education and enrichment; job support, training, and placement; and comprehensive family support services and referrals. Position Summary The Preschool Site Supervisor oversees the daily operation of the child development center, maintains professional, positive relationships with students, parents and/or guardians and staff members at all times, and addresses concerns in a timely, confidential manner. The Preschool Site Supervisor is expected to uphold all licensing regulations, oversee all child development assessment and testing procedures and facilitate staff development. This position is exempt and reports to the Senior Director of Child Development. What You’ll Do Program Administration Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Center. Work in partnership with the other Bayview Site Supervisor (Infant Toddler) to oversee the operations and team development for the BV infant, toddler and preschool program. Responsible for monitoring and following through on required assessments and screenings (e.g. ITERS, ECERS, DRDP’s, ASQ’s, CLASS). Responsible for meeting Community Care Licensing requirements, federal, local, and CDC guidelines and regulations (include Title 5 and Title 22). Maintain positive relationships with parents/guardians and children, and meet their cultural and linguistic needs. Responsible for supervising, training, and evaluating preschool staff (e.g. staff schedules, time sheets, vacation, and leave time). Maintain and update necessary documentation for all the children and families at the Center. Monitor and approve ordering of supplies and materials. Coordinate and monitor volunteers and interns. Ensure program staffing needs, including recruitment and hiring, are met in collaboration with the partner infant/toddler Site Supervisor at Bayview and the Senior Director of Child Development. Work to address parent/guardian issues when difficulties arise. Plan and coordinate Preschool Lead Teacher meetings to address Center goals and issues. Work effectively with other FACES employees and programs (e.g. finance, enrollment, family support & inclusion). Interview incoming family members upon enrollment, provide introductions to Center staff, and orientation to Center policies and procedures. Foster and model a positive, professional, and team-orientated environment for staff and interns. Work in partnership with other organizations, consultants, and professionals. Other duties as assigned. Program Development Build teamwork and facilitate a cooperative environment with all staff, including Family Support and Wellness, the Inclusion team, and Basecamp. Work with staff to identify and address exceptional needs of children. Monitor and assist in developing, planning, and implementing Preschool classroom environments and curricular standards. Attend required meetings and training for continuous professional development for professional and program improvement. Ensure the safety and well-being of children in classroom and center environments through active supervision and adherence to safety procedures. Qualifications You have a solid mix of the following knowledge, ability, skills and experience: Hold or qualify for the California Child Development Site Supervisor permit Three plus years managing a child development center Three plus years managing staff Strong organizational and conflict management skills Five years classroom experience in ECE setting Experience with state or federally funded child care programs preferred. Completed 12 units that cover infant toddler growth and development & curriculum preferred Able to lift 50 pounds. Job Description We are a progressive, 15-attorney law firm dedicated to championing unions, workers, and benefit plans since 1936. With offices in Oakland and Sacramento, we represent public- and private-sector unions, educators, employee benefit plans, and individual employees across the full spectrum of union-side labor and employment law. We currently have two open positions for an Associate Attorney: one in our Sacramento office focusing on our Labor & Employment practice, and a second focusing on our Education practice, open in either our Oakland or Sacramento office. Both are available to start immediately. Labor & Employment Practice: This position includes advising and representing clients on a broad range of workplace matters, including collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration proceedings, unfair labor practice charges, wage and hour compliance, and employment discrimination and retaliation claims, with representation before administrative agencies such as the NLRB, PERB, EEOC, and DLSE, as well as in state and federal court litigation. Applicants should have completed labor and employment law courses. Education Practice: Our attorneys represent California Teachers Association members in a variety of legal matters, including Education Code disciplinary actions before the Office of Administrative Hearings, credentialing matters before the Commission on Teacher Credentialing, and disputes with employer Districts regarding issues of pay, classification, disability accommodation, layoffs, leaves, transfers, tort claims, et al., in addition to providing advice and counsel on a wide-range of other employment-related issues to such members directly. Each attorney is responsible for handling the intake and handling of approximately 20-30 cases per month. Ideal candidates will have 2-10 years of experience and must be admitted to the California Bar. In addition to a strong academic background, superior writing, and superior oral advocacy skills, applicants must share our commitment to the labor and worker's rights movements. While union-side experience is a plus, we also welcome applicants with backgrounds in plaintiffs' employment law or public interest work. Completion of labor and employment law coursework is expected. We are looking for a motivated self-starter with excellent judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing a caseload independently. Candidates must hold a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and be active, in good standing, with the California Bar. For attorneys with 3-5 years of experience, the salary range is $113,000-$125,000, depending on office and commensurate with experience.
