Engineered Technical Buyer \n \n Location: Tonawanda, NY \n Salary: $80,000–$100,000 + Bonus \n \n We are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to support purchasing and engineering activities within a capital equipment manufacturing environment. \n \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Manage procurement of engineered components and services.\n, • Develop RFQs, evaluate technical bids, and qualify suppliers.\n, • Negotiate with steel fabricators, foundries, forgers, and OEM suppliers.\n, • Manage long-lead items and capital project schedules.\n, • Read and interpret mechanical/fabrication drawings, BOMs, specifications, and ECOs/ECNs.\n, • Coordinate with design engineers and suppliers to resolve technical issues.\n, • Monitor supplier quality, delivery, NCRs, corrective actions, and performance.\n, • Support cost-reduction initiatives and supplier negotiations.\n, • Source and develop qualified technical suppliers.\n, • Track capital equipment builds through fabrication, inspection, and delivery.\n\n \n What We're Looking For \n\n • 3–7+ years of buying/procurement experience in manufacturing, industrial, or capital equipment environments.\n, • Experience with fabricated/machined components and capital equipment sourcing.\n, • Knowledge of weldments, structural steel, machining tolerances, coatings, and heat treatment.\n, • Strong supplier relationship management and negotiation skills.\n, • ERP/MRP experience such as SAP, Oracle, or Infor.\n, • Ability to work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams.\n, • Experience with SAP is highly preferred.\n, • Vault experience is a plus.\n, • Willingness to travel less than 10%, including internationally.\n\n \n What We Offer \n\n • Global and multicultural work environment\n, • Diversity & inclusion culture\n, • Continuous learning and development opportunities\n, • Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance\n, • 401(k) retirement plan\n, • Tuition assistance\n, • Annual bonus\n\n \n Interested?
