Jaunty is hiring a Graphic Designer to support our Brand and Product Development team. This is a hands-on design and production role for someone who takes creative direction and turns it into finished, publish-ready work across digital, retail, and merchandise channels. Our VP of Brand/Creative sets the art direction and creative standards. You bring that direction to life across every place our brand shows up, from a dispensary menu banner to a counter card to the artwork on a hoodie. \n The right person for this role loves execution. You are fast, technically excellent, and meticulous about the details that separate a file that looks good on screen from a file that is accurate, on-brand, and ready for its intended application. You can hold a dozen active requests without losing track of any of them, and you have strong design judgment while working comfortably inside an established creative vision. \n \n Engagement Structure \n This is a contract-to-hire position, and we are hiring with the intention of converting this role to full-time employment at the end of an initial three-month term. The engagement begins as a part-time independent contractor role at approximately 20-30 hours per week. Conversion to full-time will depend on the quality of the work delivered during the initial term and on business needs at the time, so while full-time employment is the outcome we are working toward, it is not guaranteed. \n Contractors are paid on a bi-weekly invoicing schedule. \n \n Location \n Remote, with occasional travel to our headquarters in the Albany, New York area. Candidates based in the Northeast are preferred. \n \n Reports to \n Vice President of Brand/Creative \n \n Compensation \n Hourly Rate: $50 to $60 per hour, depending on experience and portfolio depth. \n Upon conversion to full-time, compensation would move to a salary and benefits package commensurate with the role. \n \n Responsibilities \n\n • Design digital advertising and promotional assets for dispensary websites, online menus, and e-commerce platforms, including banner ads, product imagery, and retailer-specific creative\n, • Develop consumer-facing social content and advertising creative for Instagram and other digital channels\n, • Resize, reformat, and adapt approved creative across multiple dimensions, placements, and platforms while holding brand consistency\n, • Design retail point-of-sale materials including banners, posters, shelf displays, counter cards, signage, and menus\n, • Update product catalogs, sell sheets, launch materials, sales presentations, and training collateral for our commercial teams\n, • Translate brand creative onto apparel, swag, and promotional merchandise, and prepare production-ready artwork for screen printing, embroidery, and heat transfer\n, • Work with vendors to confirm artwork is correctly formatted for its final application\n, • Translate creative briefs, sketches, and references into polished final artwork\n, • Build on existing templates and design systems to produce new assets and SKU extensions efficiently\n, • Maintain clean, organized working files with reliable version control across products, SKUs, campaigns, and vendors\n\n \n Required Qualifications \n\n • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop\n, • Strong experience designing for both digital and print, with a working understanding of the technical requirements of each\n, • Demonstrated print production and prepress knowledge, including packaging dielines, bleeds, trim and safe areas, CMYK, RGB and spot color, vector and raster artwork, image resolution, font management, and production file preparation\n, • Experience producing digital advertising, social creative, web banners, and e-commerce graphics\n, • Proven ability to manage a high volume of concurrent requests and revisions without sacrificing accuracy\n, • Ability to take creative direction and feedback, then solve execution problems independently\n, • A portfolio showing professional work across digital design, print production, packaging, and brand execution\n, • Availability for occasional onsite days at our Albany-area headquarters\n, • Must be 21 or older\n\n \n Preferred Qualifications \n\n • Experience designing for consumer packaged goods, particularly packaging and retail marketing materials\n, • Experience in a regulated industry such as cannabis, alcohol, food and beverage, cosmetics, or pharmaceuticals\n, • Experience preparing artwork for apparel, embroidery, screen printing, and promotional merchandise\n, • Experience working directly with commercial printers, packaging suppliers, and production vendors\n, • Familiarity with photography, photo retouching, motion graphics, or video editing\n, • Familiarity with the cannabis industry and dispensary retail environment\n\n \n To Apply \n Submit your resume along with a link to your digital portfolio. Your portfolio should include both digital and print work, ideally with packaging, digital advertising, social, or retail collateral. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. \n \n Jaunty is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
