Job DescriptionJob Title: Electronics Assembler – Temperature Control SystemsJob Description This role focuses on assembling electronic and electro‑mechanical components for temperature control systems used in aerospace applications. You will build and test subassemblies and complete assemblies, following detailed engineering specifications, technical drawings, and manufacturing procedures. Working within a collaborative production environment, you will contribute to high-quality, reliable solutions that support safe and efficient aircraft operation worldwide. Responsibilities • Assemble fabricated components to build electronic and electro‑mechanical subassemblies and complete assemblies for temperature control and related systems., • Follow detailed engineering specifications, technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions to complete assemblies accurately and consistently., • Perform detailed inspections and functional testing of assembled components to ensure they meet quality and performance standards., • Use hand tools and power tools, including wire strippers, crimping tools, soldering irons, and other small tools, to assemble and secure components and wiring., • Read and follow manufacturing procedures or specifications to complete job assemblies in the correct sequence and within defined tolerances., • Document assembly processes, inspection findings, and test results accurately in company systems and travelers., • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve assembly or quality issues as they arise., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all safety, quality, and housekeeping protocols., • Perform repetitive assembly operations with consistency and precision, while meeting production goals and deadlines., • Use basic computer systems to access drawings, manufacturing procedures, and work instructions, and to scan for time, attendance, and work traveler tracking., • Apply basic math skills to verify measurements, quantities, and specifications during assembly and inspection activities., • Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on assembly procedures, tools, and workflows.Essential Skills, • Proven experience in electronic assembly, preferably within aerospace or related industries., • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or one to three years of related experience and/or training., • Strong understanding of electronic components, wiring, and soldering techniques., • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (blueprints), schematics, and detailed work instructions., • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions in English., • Proficiency in reading and following manufacturing procedures or specifications to complete assemblies accurately., • Ability to use wire strippers, crimping tools, soldering irons, and other small hand and power tools safely and effectively., • Capability to perform repetitive assembly operations with consistent quality., • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals., • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and work within standardized situations., • Good attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to handle small parts and fine assemblies., • Good reading vision, color discrimination, and the ability to speak clearly to support safe and accurate work., • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established production targets., • Eligibility to work on projects subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), requiring U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with electro‑mechanical assemblies is a plus., • Familiarity with temperature control, low power, composite, and deicing assemblies is beneficial., • Experience using scanners or basic computer systems to navigate file structures, open drawings, and access manufacturing procedures., • Ability to read and interpret schematics and complex blueprints beyond basic drawings., • Demonstrated skill in assembly inspection and testing of electronic subassemblies., • Experience with wiring harness assembly and routing in an aerospace or similar environment., • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude, with the ability to collaborate across production and engineering functions., • Comfort working with standardized processes while contributing ideas for process and workflow improvements.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a production environment focused on aerospace temperature control and related electronic systems. You will work primarily at a workstation or bench, regularly sitting while using your hands to handle small parts, tools, and assemblies, and frequently reaching with hands and arms. The role requires the ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds and to use a variety of small tools, including hand tools, power tools, wire strippers, crimping tools, and soldering irons. Work involves close, distance, and color vision, as well as peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to perform precise assembly and inspection tasks. You will use basic computer systems and scanners to access drawings, manufacturing procedures, and to record time, attendance, and work traveler information. The environment is structured and standardized, with established safety and quality procedures, and operates at a pace that requires consistent productivity and attention to detail throughout the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Plainview, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
