Job DescriptionJob Title: General LaborerJob Description This role supports a design/build construction team that specializes in pre-manufactured metal buildings for commercial and industrial projects. As a General Laborer, you assist carpenters and construction crews with building assembly, finish work, and material handling on active job sites in southern Minnesota. Responsibilities • Assist carpenters in assembling pre-manufactured metal buildings on commercial and industrial construction sites., • Support finish carpentry work, including tasks related to interior and exterior building details as directed by carpenters., • Install and secure metal panels using appropriate fasteners and tools, ensuring accuracy and quality., • Transport and organize carpenters’ tools, materials, and equipment to and from work areas to keep the job site efficient and well supplied., • Use power tools, hand tools, and tape measures safely and correctly to complete assigned tasks., • Perform general labor duties such as lifting, carrying, staging materials, and cleaning work areas., • Follow instructions from carpenters and site supervisors to meet project timelines and quality standards., • Adhere to all safety procedures and site rules while working outdoors on active construction projects.Essential Skills, • Hands-on experience using a tape measure accurately in a construction or similar environment., • Background in construction, with familiarity in basic building practices and job site operations., • Ability to work effectively with carpenters and other crew members to support building assembly and finish work., • Comfort using power tools and hand tools, including drills and other equipment commonly used in carpentry and general labor., • Capability to perform general labor tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials throughout the job site., • Reliability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions on commercial construction projects.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience operating heavy equipment in a construction setting is preferred., • Exposure to framing and carpentry work is an advantage., • Familiarity with metal building construction or installation of metal panels is beneficial., • Ability to read basic measurements and follow detailed instructions on site., • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety on the job.Why Work Here? Work Environment Work takes place on active commercial construction sites located across southern Minnesota, including areas between Winona and Randolph. The role involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and construction materials in a fast-paced, physically demanding setting. You collaborate closely with carpenters and other crew members, following site safety protocols and construction standards throughout each project. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Rochester, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
