Job DescriptionPOSITION TITLE: Custodian Work Location: Laredo, TX FLSA: Non-Exempt Classification: Full-Time Pay Rate: $20.60 hr JOB SUMMARY: Maintains the cleanliness of a facility and the surrounding grounds to meet customer and client satisfaction. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Ability to perform major janitorial cleaning tasks such as vacuuming (using a 25lb. vacuum daily for 3-4 hours), wet mopping, sweeping, dusting, and emptying the trash (lifting wastepaper and debris-minimum of 55lbs.), • Cleans and disinfects drinking fountains, and restrooms, including floors and all fixtures (i.e.: Urinals, Toilets, Sinks, Mirrors, Partitions, and Counters)., • Fills dispensers and stocking supplies in restrooms. Wash Windows and Sill (Door Glass)., • Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends as necessary to meet events and facility schedules., • Must be able to walk up and down stairs frequently and perform regular bending and standing as needed in a daily shift., • Performs other related duties as required. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Receives supervision from the Shift Supervisor. The position has no formal assigned supervisory responsibility or authority. Must complete jobs without constant supervision. WORKING CONDITIONS: • The principal duties of this position are performed in an indoor and/or outdoor environment., • Works standing and walking for prolonged periods while cleaning and/or sanitizing the work area., • Steps, stoops, crawls, climbs, lifts, bends, kneels, pulls, and pushes while performing job duties such as heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 55 pounds., • Physical work is a primary part of the job., • The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions., • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, cleaning chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY: This position is subject to the DLP Services LLC, Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Education and Experience:, • High School Diploma or GED., • Must pass a background check. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Effective interpersonal/communication skills., • Ability to understand written and verbal communications., • Ability to understand verbal instructions., • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Effective grooming skills., • Able to operate electronic devices for clocking in/out procedures. Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment., • Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies., • Ability to lift, push/pull and manipulate heavy objects up to 55 pounds.
