Residential & Short-Term Rental Cleaner — Independent Contractor Bestom Kleen Inc. is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented cleaner to provide residential and short-term rental cleaning services throughout New York City. We are looking for someone who takes cleaning seriously and understands that reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and the ability to follow instructions are just as important as cleaning ability. This is a contract/on-call position. Work is based on client bookings and company needs, so a fixed number of weekly hours is not guaranteed. Responsibilities • Clean residential homes, apartments, and short-term rental properties., • Clean bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, living areas, floors, appliances, and other assigned areas., • Make beds and prepare short-term rental properties for incoming guests when required., • Follow Bestom Kleen cleaning procedures and property-specific instructions., • Complete assigned areas thoroughly and within the scheduled cleaning period., • Work independently and as part of a team when required., • Follow the direction of the assigned supervisor., • Report problems, damages, missing supplies, or incomplete work immediately., • Maintain professional behavior while inside or around client properties. What We Are Looking For The right candidate must be: • Reliable and punctual., • Detail-oriented and thorough., • Comfortable performing physically demanding cleaning work., • Able to work efficiently and maintain a reasonable cleaning pace., • Able to follow instructions without repeatedly being reminded., • Receptive to correction and willing to redo work when necessary., • Professional and respectful toward supervisors, coworkers, clients, and client property., • Able to communicate when confused rather than making assumptions., • Able to travel reliably to assignments throughout New York City., • Comfortable using a smartphone and scheduling/team applications. Previous professional cleaning experience is preferred; however, work ethic, reliability, coachability, and attention to detail are equally important. Scheduling & Reliability Applicants must provide honest and realistic availability. Once you accept an assignment, you are expected to honor that commitment and arrive on time. Repeated lateness, last-minute cancellations, failure to appear for accepted assignments, or failure to communicate appropriately are not compatible with Bestom Kleen's standards. Because our cleaners work inside clients' homes and short-term rental properties, professionalism and dependability are essential. Selection Process Bestom Kleen uses a multi-stage selection process. Qualified applicants will first be invited to an approximately 30-minute virtual interview. The strongest candidates may then be invited to complete a paid working evaluation on an actual cleaning assignment. The evaluation allows us to observe cleaning quality, productivity, ability to follow instructions, communication, professionalism, work ethic, and response to feedback. Participation in an interview or paid working evaluation does not guarantee ongoing assignments. Candidates selected following the working evaluation will enter Bestom Kleen's four-week probationary period. Job Summary We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented Professional Cleaner to join our team. This role covers a variety of property types including Airbnb/short-term rentals, residential homes, commercial spaces, and post-construction sites. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering spotless results across every environment and can adapt their approach to the specific demands of each property type Key Responsibilities: Airbnb / Short-Term Rental Cleaning • Complete full turnovers between guest check-out and check-in, often within tight time windows, • Strip and replace all bedding, towels, and amenities to hotel-level standards, • Inspect and report any damage or missing items after each guest stay, • Restock consumables (toiletries, kitchen supplies, etc.), • Ensure the property is photo-ready for incoming guests Residential Cleaning • Deep clean and routine maintenance cleaning of private homes and apartments, • Clean kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and living areas to a high standard, • Dust, vacuum, mop, and sanitise all surfaces, • Handle client belongings with care and discretion, • Follow any specific client preferences or cleaning plans Commercial Cleaning • Clean offices, retail units, or other commercial premises, • Empty bins, sanitise workstations, clean restrooms and communal areas, • Operate commercial cleaning equipment safely and effectively, • Work outside of business hours where required (early morning or evening shifts), • Maintain cleaning logs and adhere to health & safety standards Post-Construction Cleaning • Remove construction dust, debris, and residue from all surfaces, • Clean windows, frames, and glass of paint, stickers, and plaster, • Deep clean bathrooms and kitchens after installation, • Wipe down all fixtures, fittings, and built-in appliances, • Ensure the property is move-in or handover ready Requirements • Proven experience in at least one or more of the above cleaning types (required), • Post-construction cleaning experience highly desirable, • Knowledge of appropriate cleaning products and chemicals for different surfaces, • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, • Physically fit and able to carry equipment and work on your feet for extended periods, • Reliable, punctual, and professional at all times, • Own transport preferred (to travel between properties), • DBS/background check may be required
