JOB SUMMARY: Asian Health Services Foundation is entering an exciting period of philanthropic growth and investment. As AHS expands its ability to meet the evolving health and wellness needs of the communities it serves, the Foundation is building a stronger, more sophisticated fundraising program to deepen donor relationships, grow philanthropic investment, and create sustainable resources for the future. The Director of Development (DD) will play a key leadership role in this growth. Reporting to the Executive Director of the AHS Foundation, the DD will lead the day-to-day development program, manage and develop the fundraising team, strengthen development operations, and help translate the Foundation's long-term strategy into measurable fundraising results. This is both a leadership and fundraising role. The DD will oversee an integrated development program encompassing major gifts, individual giving, events, campaigns, corporate engagement, donor operations, and other philanthropic initiatives. The DD will also personally manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects and cultivate, solicit, close, and steward significant philanthropic gifts. The DD will work closely with the Director of Major Gifts and other development staff and will partner with the Executive Director, CEO, Foundation Board, AHS leadership, and community partners to build a strong culture of philanthropy and increase philanthropic investment in the mission of Asian Health Services. The ideal candidate is a strategic and collaborative leader who enjoys both building strong fundraising programs and building meaningful relationships with people. This is an opportunity for an experienced development professional to help shape the next stage of a growing Foundation while advancing health and well-being in the communities AHS serves. Essential Job Functions • Develop and implement a near, mid and long-range strategic plans for expanding AHS revenue from major gifts, individual giving, events, campaigns, corporate engagement, planned giving, and other philanthropic initiatives., • Partner with the Executive Director to execute annual and multi-year fundraising strategies that advance the Foundation's philanthropic growth and organizational goals., • Translate the Foundation's strategic priorities into annual revenue goals, fundraising plans, staff workplans, budgets, and measurable performance objectives., • Monitor fundraising performance, revenue projections, key performance indicators, and return on investment and use data to identify opportunities, address challenges, and strengthen results., • Identify emerging fundraising opportunities and recommend new strategies, programs, partnerships, and investments that can expand the Foundation's philanthropic reach and impact.Major Gifts and Donor Engagement, • Maintain and actively manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects, with personal responsibility for cultivating, soliciting, closing, and stewarding significant philanthropic gifts., • Build authentic, long-term donor relationships by connecting donor interests and philanthropic priorities with the mission, programs, and impact of Asian Health Services., • Develop individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies for assigned donors and prospects, including engagement opportunities, gift strategies, next steps, and appropriate ask amounts., • Partner closely with the Director of Major Gifts to strengthen the Foundation's major gift pipeline, moves management, donor upgrades, stewardship, and planned giving opportunities., • Work closely with the Executive Director, CEO, and Director of Major Gifts to develop strategies for the Foundation's highest-priority donors and prospects, including cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and transformational giving opportunities., • Identify opportunities to move annual and mid-level donors into major giving and deepen the engagement and investment of existing major donors.Team Leadership and Development, • Build a high-performing and donor-centered development culture., • Oversee fundraising activities across development functions to ensure donors experience thoughtful and consistent engagement across events, campaigns, communications, major gifts, and stewardship.Foundation & Development Operations, • Oversee the database operations team that develops systems, processes, workflows, budgets, and infrastructure necessary to support an effective and growing fundraising program., • Partner with development operations staff to ensure effective use of the fundraising CRM, accurate donor and prospect information, timely gift processing and acknowledgments, prospect tracking, moves management, and fundraising reporting., • Develop and monitor the Foundation's development operating budget, revenue projections, fundraising expenses, and performance in partnership with the Executive Director and AHS Finance., • Ensure development practices reflect strong standards for donor confidentiality, gift acceptance, stewardship, recognition, sponsorships, planned giving, and other fundraising activities.Events, Campaigns & Donor Pipeline, • Provide strategic oversight of fundraising events, annual giving, digital and direct-mail campaigns, donor cultivation activities, and other engagement strategies., • Ensure that events and campaigns serve not only as revenue-generating activities but also as opportunities to identify new prospects, cultivate relationships, upgrade donors, and build a long-term philanthropic pipeline., • Work collaboratively with development staff to establish event and campaign goals, budgets, timelines, sponsorship strategies, and performance measures., • Identify opportunities to deepen relationships with event participants, sponsors, volunteers, community leaders, and other stakeholders and connect them more meaningfully with AHS.Board & Executive Engagement, • Partner with the Executive Director to meaningfully engage Foundation Board members in fundraising through donor identification, introductions, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation., • Support the Executive Director, CEO, and Board members in donor engagement by coordinating prospect strategy, briefing materials, meeting preparation, assignments, and follow-up., • Help create opportunities for donors and prospects to experience the impact of AHS firsthand through site visits, executive briefings, small gatherings, program engagement, and other mission-centered experiences.Fundraising Communications & External Engagement, • Collaborate with AHS Marketing and Communications to develop compelling donor-facing cases for support, proposals, impact stories, campaigns, stewardship communications, and fundraising materials., • Represent AHS and the Foundation at donor meetings, fundraising events, community gatherings, and other external activities that build relationships and advance philanthropic support., • Serve as an ambassador for the Foundation and help strengthen AHS's relationships with donors, community leaders, philanthropic partners, and other stakeholders., • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.Supervisory Responsibilities, • Provide leadership and direct supervision to assigned Foundation development staff, with responsibility for team performance, professional development, fundraising results, and effective development operations., • Recruit, coach, mentor, and evaluate direct reports; establish clear goals and expectations; provide regular feedback; support professional growth; and address performance issues in accordance with organizational policies., • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, entrepreneurial, and accountable team culture that encourages staff to share ideas, take initiative, solve problems, and work collectively toward the Foundation's goals.General Agency/AHS Duties, • Fosters an environment that promotes trust, respect, and other organizational meetings as required.Minimum Qualifications, • Bachelor's degree and equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience., • Significant progressively responsible experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, philanthropy, or related work, including responsibility for fundraising strategy and revenue generation., • Experience with development operations, fundraising budgets, donor databases/CRM systems, and performance reporting., • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with donors, Board members, executives, staff, community leaders, and other stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications, • Eight to fifteen years of increasing responsibilities in non-profit management, preferably in community-based health or other social services, • Minimum of five years of fundraising and donor cultivation experience., • Knowledge and experience working in the Asian American community, • Bilingual/Bicultural in an Asian language/culture., • Master’s degree (M.A.) preferred, • Valid California Driver’s License, insurance, and ability to travel as required to perform duties.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities, • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required, specifically with Outlook, Word, and Excel and fundraising database management software., • Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage time, interpersonal relationships,
