VALiNTRY is conducting a search for an experienced Communications Center Director to lead a high-performing communications operation supporting emergency medical services (EMS), non-emergency medical transportation, and municipal 911 contracts. Position is in Pflgerville, TX. This executive leadership role is responsible for providing strategic direction and operational oversight for all communications center functions, ensuring exceptional emergency medical dispatch (EMD), resource deployment, customer service, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. The Director will collaborate with executive leadership, municipal agencies, hospitals, and public safety partners to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable emergency communications services. The target salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000. We are committed to hiring the right person, not simply filling a position. Compensation may exceed the posted range for candidates whose qualifications significantly exceed the requirements of the role. • Provide strategic leadership for all communications center operations, including Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), call processing, dispatch, deployment, and resource management., • Develop and execute departmental goals, policies, procedures, and performance standards., • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, response-time requirements, and service level agreements (SLAs)., • Lead communications efforts during major incidents, disasters, and special events., • Maintain business continuity and emergency preparedness plans., • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing communications professionals., • Foster employee engagement, professional development, and workforce wellness., • Oversee quality assurance initiatives and ensure compliance with EMD protocols and regulatory standards., • Analyze operational metrics and implement continuous process improvements to enhance performance and service delivery., • Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets., • Identify operational efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service excellence., • Oversee communications technologies, including: Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Radio Communications, Telephony Systems, Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), Mobile Data Terminals (MDT), Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Platforms., • Manage vendor relationships while ensuring system reliability, cybersecurity, and interoperability., • Serve as the primary liaison with municipal clients, public safety agencies, healthcare partners, and executive leadership., • Support contract compliance, operational reporting, business development initiatives, and community engagement activities., • Build strong partnerships that enhance service quality and operational effectiveness., • Ensure communications operations consistently meet contractual and organizational performance standards., • Optimize resource utilization, staffing, and deployment efficiency., • Maintain compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and agency requirements., • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing workforce., • Foster collaborative relationships with municipal agencies and public safety partners., • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance, patient outcomes, and customer satisfaction., • Strong knowledge of EMS communications, Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), deployment strategies, and resource management., • Proven leadership experience managing high-volume communications or dispatch operations., • Excellent analytical, financial, organizational, and problem-solving skills., • Outstanding communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management abilities., • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment., • APCO Certified Communications Center Manager (CCM), • Emergency Medical Dispatch Quality Assurance (EMD-Q), • NIMS/ICS Certifications (100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800), • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field., • Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) Certification required., • Seven (7)+ years of progressively responsible experience in EMS or public safety communications., • Five (5)+ years of leadership experience managing a communications center or EMS operations., • Experience supporting municipal contracts, contract performance management, and high-performance EMS systems is strongly preferred.
