Position Summary Epicured is seeking an experienced, results-driven Assistant General Manager (AGM) to serve as the second-in-command of our flagship food manufacturing facility in Glen Cove, New York. This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for helping oversee all aspects of daily facility operations, including production, food safety, quality, sanitation, logistics, labor management, continuous improvement, and leadership development. The Assistant General Manager partners closely with the Senior Vice President of Operations & General Manager to ensure operational excellence while building the leadership capability necessary to support Epicured's continued growth. This position is intended to develop a future General Manager capable of independently leading a manufacturing facility while supporting Epicured's long-term expansion strategy. As Epicured continues to grow into new markets and facilities, the Assistant General Manager will play a critical role in creating scalable operational systems and developing future leaders. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership • Partner with the SVP of Operations & General Manager in leading all daily facility, • operations., • Ensure production schedules are executed safely, efficiently, and on time., • Maintain exceptional standards for quality, food safety, and customer satisfaction., • Lead daily operational meetings and communicate priorities across departments., • Provide leadership coverage during vacations, travel, or other absences of the, • General Manager., • Make timely operational decisions that support business objectives., • Drive accountability across all operational departments. Leadership & Talent Development • Directly coach, mentor, and develop department managers and supervisors., • Build a culture centered on accountability, ownership, teamwork, and continuous, • improvement., • Conduct performance coaching and leadership development conversations., • Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and succession planning., • Identify and develop future operational leaders. Production & Manufacturing Excellence • Monitor daily production performance and KPI attainment., • Improve labor productivity and operational efficiency., • Drive waste reduction initiatives., • Improve schedule adherence and throughput., • Ensure standardized work practices are consistently followed., • Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects., • Support implementation of new equipment, automation, and process, • improvements. Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory Compliance • Champion a culture where food safety and quality are never compromised., • Ensure compliance with:, • FDA regulations, • HACCP, • GMPs, • OSHA requirements, • Internal food safety programs, • Partner closely with the Executive Chef and Operations Coordinator to maintain, • inspection readiness and regulatory compliance. Financial & Operational Performance • Assist in managing labor budgets and overtime., • Monitor operational expenses., • Analyze KPIs and identify improvement opportunities., • Support annual planning and capital improvement projects., • Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service. Cross-Functional Leadership • Collaborate closely with: Culinary; Procurement; Inventory Control; Quality Assurance; Maintenance; Shipping & Logistics; Human Resources; Finance; Customer Experience; Product Development Communication & Workforce Leadership • Must be able to effectively communicate, build trust, and lead across all levels of the organization, from frontline production employees (many of whom are native spanish speakers) to executive leadership. Qualifications Required: • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration,, • Engineering, Food Science, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent, • leadership experience)., • 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience in food manufacturing, food, • production, or high-volume manufacturing operations., • Minimum of 5 years leading managers and supervisors., • Demonstrated experience managing complex production operations., • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and manufacturing best, • practices., • Experience leading large hourly workforces., • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills., • Strong financial and operational business acumen., • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and communication skills., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems. Preferred: • Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish strongly preferred., • Experience leading a predominantly Spanish-speaking workforce., • Experience in ready-to-eat meal manufacturing., • Experience in FDA-regulated food manufacturing., • HACCP Certification., • Lean Manufacturing experience., • Six Sigma certification., • Experience supporting multi-site operations., • Experience launching or expanding manufacturing facilities.
