With a negative carbon footprint, Mitchell & Dickinson has helped save thousands of tonnes of CO2e through its innovative energy-saving installations, making a real difference for homeowners and the environment alike.Every project is completed with exceptional attention to detail, respect for customers' homes and a commitment to outstanding workmanship.About the RoleAs a Senior Carpenter Craftsperson, you will become an integral member of the Operations team, reporting to a site based Project Manager (working foreman), and carrying out a wide range of specialist carpentry and restoration work.The role is primarily focused on windows and doors, with approximately 90% of projects involving the restoration, repair and enhancement of existing timber joinery. You will also support insulation installations and other energy efficiency improvements, ensuring every project is completed to the highest possible standard.Key ResponsibilitiesRestore and refurbish timber casement windows, sash windows and doors.Carry out repairs including replacing cills, glazing, sash reweighting and timber restoration.Install specialist secondary glazing systems and invisible draught-proofing solutions.Build and fit hardwood frames and bespoke joinery components.Complete loft, underfloor and roof insulation installations where required.Carry out painting and decorating associated with restoration works.Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.Maintain exceptionally high standards of workmanship, cleanliness and customer care.Load and unload tools and materials safely.Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment.Work safely at height using appropriate access equipment.Support warehouse housekeeping and vehicle safety checks.Drive company vehicles when required.Occasionally travel and stay away from home for agreed projects (expenses paid).Key Skills and QualificationsMinimum 3-5 years' carpentry experience.Extensive second-fix carpentry experience with excellent finishing skills.Experience fitting kitchens, bespoke joinery, skirting, architraves or similar high-quality work.Experience working respectfully within occupied private homes.NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent practical experience.Full clean UK driving licence.Excellent joinery and carpentry skills.Competent using a range of hand and power tools.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes.Able to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication and organisational skills.Professional, tidy and customer-focused approach.Comfortable working in confined spaces and at height when required.Own standard set of carpentry/joinery tools.First Aid, CSCS and Health & Safety qualifications are advantageous.Benefits5 weeks paid holidays plus paid bank holidays.No weekend working.Generous overtime rates.Immediate enrolment to the company pension scheme with generous company contributions.Enrolment to the company Cash Healthcare scheme after 6 months, giving generous discounts for healthcare items such as dental, opticians and osteopath.Personalised career pathway with regular performance and pay reviews.Paid travel time after the initial travel allowance.Expenses covered for agreed overnight stays.Opportunity to work on unique heritage and energy efficiency projects.Opportunity to mentor apprentices and develop professionally.Varied work with no two projects the same.How to ApplyIf you have the skills and experience required for this position, click "apply" today and check your inbox for an email providing more information on how to complete your application and provide any other supporting documents.You must be authorised to work in the UK.
