About the Role This is a hands-on, second-in-command role at Crowne Plaza Nottingham's leisure club you'd be the person the Club Manager trusts to keep standards, safety and service exactly right when they're not on site. It suits someone who already knows how to run a shift, not just work one: someone comfortable making calls on staffing, member issues and pool-plant checks without waiting to be told. There's also a genuinely commercial side to the role driving membership sales and spa revenue, not just maintaining what's already there. Day to day, you'll: Take full responsibility for the club's operation when the Club Manager is off site Support rotas, staff performance and 1:1s for a small team of full and part-time Spa Therapists and Leisure Attendants Handle member complaints and resolve issues calmly and professionally Oversee pool water testing, chemical levels, filtration and plant-room procedures Support poolside safety and emergency response as a qualified (or training) pool responder/lifeguard Carry out health & safety, compliance and operational checks across the leisure environment Work closely with the spa team on standards and guest experience across both spa and leisure the club operates 3 treatment rooms, open Tuesday to Sunday Help launch a new class programme Actively drive membership sales and support growth in spa revenue and overall guest experience Cover shifts flexibly across the rota, including early mornings and weekends, as operationally required What you'll bring: Reliability, flexibility and consistency this is a role built on trust Strong people skills with members, hotel guests and the team A proactive approach comfortable spotting what needs doing without being asked Good organisation and prioritisation in a busy environment Ideally, Pool Plant Operator qualified (or willing to work towards it) Ideally, Pool Responder/Lifeguard qualified (or willing to train) Some spa experience is a bonus treatments, bookings, spa-day journeys and guest expectations but not essential Commercial awareness, with a genuine interest in growing membership and spa revenue Genuine ambition to progress within the business Desirable but not essential: First Aid qualification, alongside the pool responder and pool plant qualifications above. Working Hours Hospitality doesn't stop for weekends or holidays, and this role reflects that. The club operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with shifts covering early mornings (weekdays 06:3010:00) through to later weekend cover (07:3021:00). You'll need to be flexible to support the rota as business needs require, including weekends.
