Laboratory Technician 6993 Location: Clevedon, North Somerset Hours: 40 hours per week: 8:45am–4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am–4:00pm Friday, including a 45-minute paid lunch break Salary: Competitive – available upon application Our client is a rapidly growing food manufacturing business specialising in the development and production of natural flavourings and seasonings. They are looking for a motivated and detail-focused Flavour Laboratory Technician to join their R&D team at their modern Clevedon facility. This opportunity would suit someone with previous laboratory or kitchen experience who understands Good Manufacturing Practice and is comfortable working within a busy, task-focused environment. Key Responsibilities of a Laboratory Technician: • Compound flavour samples accurately according to instructions and formulations, • Support the preparation and organisation of samples within the laboratory, • Restock raw materials and laboratory consumables, • Monitor stock levels and ensure materials are stored correctly, • Generate labels and complete the relevant paperwork, • Prepare flavour samples for dispatch to customers, • Maintain a clean, organised and compliant laboratory environment, • Support the wider R&D team with day-to-day laboratory requirements Key Skills of a Laboratory Technician: • Previous laboratory, food production or kitchen experience, • Good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice, • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately, • Confident using Microsoft Office and Outlook, including Word and Excel, • GCSE or equivalent at Grade 6/B or above in Maths and English, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Excellent organisation and time-management skills, • Positive, motivated and flexible approach to work, • Ability to use initiative while also working effectively as part of a team, • Full right to work in the UK and Full, clean UK driving licence Benefits: • Competitive salary, • 45-minute paid lunch break, • Early finish every Friday, • Five weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service, • Auto-enrolment pension scheme with a 3% employer contribution, • WPA Healthcare NHS Top-up Scheme following successful completion of probation, • Death in Service benefit of twice the basic annual salary, • Retail discounts through the employee benefits scheme, • Employee Assistance Programme, • Modern, newly refurbished office and laboratory facilities
