Instrumentation & Controls Engineer \n Job Title: Instrumentation & Controls Engineer \n Location: Yeadon, Leeds \n Salary: Up to £40,000 \n Shift: Monday - Friday, Days \n Hours: 38 hours per week \n Sector: Manufacturing \n Job Role of the Instrumentation & Controls Engineer \n A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing facility in Yeadon, Leeds. \n This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their career within a busy manufacturing environment, working on a range of instrumentation, control systems and measurement equipment. \n You will be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, fault-finding and optimisation of instrumentation and control systems, helping to ensure the reliability, accuracy and efficiency of the manufacturing process. \n The role will involve a mixture of planned maintenance, calibration, reactive fault-finding and continuous improvement, with the opportunity to contribute to wider Lean Manufacturing, TPM and operational excellence initiatives. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Carry out calibration, maintenance, inspection and repair of instrumentation and control systems.\n, • Complete planned preventative maintenance and scheduled calibration activities.\n, • Carry out reactive maintenance and fault-finding to minimise production downtime.\n, • Investigate recurring instrumentation and equipment failures and implement corrective actions.\n, • Maintain accurate calibration records, certificates and documentation.\n, • Assist with control system software modifications, configuration changes and commissioning.\n, • Interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings and instrumentation documentation.\n, • Maintain instrumentation manuals, drawings, configuration files, programme backups and certification.\n, • Identify opportunities to improve instrumentation reliability and process performance.\n, • Support Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 6S and continuous improvement initiatives.\n, • Ensure all maintenance and calibration activities are completed safely and in accordance with site procedures.\n\n Non-Negotiable Requirements \n\n • Experience working within Instrumentation, Controls, Electrical or Automation Engineering.\n, • Experience carrying out calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and measurement systems.\n, • Strong electrical and instrumentation fault-finding experience.\n, • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.\n, • Recognised engineering apprenticeship or technical qualification.\n, • Equivalent qualification in Instrumentation, Controls, Electrical, Automation Engineering or a related discipline.\n, • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.\n\n Desirable Requirements \n\n • Previous experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\n, • Experience working with PLCs, control systems or process instrumentation.\n, • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM or 6S.\n, • Experience supporting internal or external audits.\n, • Experience with calibration management systems.\n, • Strong understanding of continuous improvement and equipment reliability.\n\n The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer Will Benefit From: \n\n • Salary up to £40,000.\n, • Monday - Friday, days-based role.\n, • 38-hour working week.\n, • Working for a well-established manufacturing business.\n, • Excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills.\n, • Training and development opportunities.\n, • Opportunity to work with a range of instrumentation and control systems.\n, • A stable, long-term career within a growing manufacturing environment.\n\n If you are an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer looking for a Monday-to-Friday days role in the Leeds/Yeadon area and feel you have the right skills and experience, then apply today. \n For further details, contact Kieran Wall at Pioneer Selection. \n As a registered candidate with Pioneer Selection Ltd, you automatically become eligible for our referral scheme. \n You will receive £250 for every candidate we place in permanent employment who has been recommended by you.
