Operating across the UK and internationally from offices in Doncaster, Nottingham, and London, they have earned a strong reputation for completing projects on time and within budget.The OpportunityA fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s Major Contracts team. This role is ideal for a commercially astute professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking ownership across a broad spectrum of high-value commercial, leisure, and hospitality projects.As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing the cost, contract, and commercial aspects of projects from inception through to completion, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction throughout.Key ResponsibilitiesTake accurate and detailed briefing notes from clients to support robust pricing, including site check measures.Act as a key member of the Quantity Surveying team, supporting collaboration across departments with a proactive and positive approach.Take off drawings and produce accurate Bills of Quantities/Scopes of Works.Manage subcontractor and supplier procurement, including cost analysis and contract issue.Maintain and update the procurement tracker.Conduct regular site visits and attend project meetings.Liaise and negotiate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.Identify, capture, and agree variations in accordance with contract terms.Prepare and submit valuations as per contractual timelines.Monitor profitability, value engineering, and highlight risk and opportunity areas.Close out waste gaps on projects and provide regular CVR reporting.Lead on project costing from concept to final account, including estimating, procurement, contract management, and commercial reporting.Review and approve invoices, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.Work collaboratively with internal departments across the project lifecycle.Submit accurate and timely final accounts.Manage full project tenders where applicable.Keep project data up to date on the Concorde Project Portal and Egnyte system.Ensure all documentation aligns with CBGW protocols.Candidate RequirementsDegree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.Ideally 10+ years of Quantity Surveying experience within the construction industry.High-level numeracy and analytical skills.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant IT systems.Strong commercial awareness and confident decision-making abilities.Effective negotiation and communication skills with a range of stakeholders.Strong personal time management and attention to detail.Collaborative, approachable, and aligned with the company’s culture and values.Full UK driving licence.What’s on OfferUp to 60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)Company car or car allowanceBonus schemeLaptop and mobile phoneHybrid working opportunities and national travel28 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays)Plus up to 3 extra days for long servicePaid festive closureWestfield Health membershipCompany pension schemeFree refreshments, birthday treats, Feast Friday lunches, and paid social eventsClear opportunities for progression, training, and career developmentIf you're an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next step in your career with a forward-thinking and supportive business, this could be the perfect role for you.Apply now to join our client’s award-winning team.
