They work with a wide-ranging client base, including owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurial individuals, and UK subsidiaries of international groups, across a broad range of sectors. \n They're now looking for an Accounts Senior to join their Business Services Group, where you'll manage a varied portfolio of clients and play a key part in delivering high-quality accountancy work from start to finish. \n The role is ideally full-time, though the firm is open to discussing part-time arrangements for the right candidate. \n Please note: This position does not include study support for ACA or ACCA qualifications. \n What You'll Be Doing \n\n • Preparing statutory accounts for a variety of entities, including limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, charities, and group structures\n, • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, bookkeeping assignments, and management accounts\n, • Managing your workload to meet agreed deadlines and budgets, ensuring all files are complete with minimal outstanding queries\n, • Clearing review points, posting adjustments, and producing well-presented, high-quality final files\n, • Supporting the outsourcing function, including job allocation, query resolution, and initial review of returned work\n, • Maintaining accurate time recording using CCH\n, • Supervising junior team members, supporting their development, and providing end-of-job feedback\n, • Keeping managers and partners updated on client issues as they arise\n, • Liaising with the Tax Department on any relevant queries\n, • Staying current with CPD requirements and identifying opportunities to add further value to clients\n\n What We're Looking For \n\n • Ideally, fully AAT qualified or qualified by experience (QBE) in a similar practice environment\n, • Demonstrable experience across statutory accounts preparation, VAT, and management accounts\n, • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work consistently\n, • Well-organised, with the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively\n, • Clear and confident communicator, comfortable liaising with clients, colleagues, and senior stakeholders\n, • Competent IT user, with experience of accountancy or practice management software\n\n Nice to Have \n\n • A valid UK driving licence (occasional client site visits may arise, though this is not a regular requirement)\n, • Previous experience using CCH practice management software\n, • Experience supervising or mentoring junior members of a team\n\n Why Join \n\n • Flexible and agile working arrangements, with a genuine commitment to employee wellbeing\n, • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service\n, • A paid day off on your birthday\n, • A paid volunteering day each year\n, • A £400 annual wellbeing allowance\n, • Life assurance scheme\n, • Employer pension scheme, with employer contributions increasing with length of service\n, • Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave packages\n, • Cycle to work scheme and season ticket loan\n, • The opportunity to get involved in social, charitable, and environmental initiatives\n\n If this job isn't quite right for you, but you know someone who would be great at this role, why not take advantage of our referral scheme?
