An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Probate Specialist to join a well-established and highly regarded Private Client team in Huddersfield. This is an exciting opportunity for a probate professional with strong technical expertise to work on a high-quality caseload of complex, high-value and high-net-worth estates, providing expert advice and exceptional client service throughout the estate administration process. The Role You will manage a varied caseload of probate and estate administration matters from initial instruction through to final distribution, with particular exposure to complex and high-net-worth estates. Your responsibilities will include:\n\n • Managing the full estate administration process from instruction through to distribution.\n, • Dealing with high-value and complex estates involving business interests, agricultural assets, trusts, investments and overseas assets.\n, • Preparing applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration.\n, • Advising executors, trustees and beneficiaries.\n, • Preparing inheritance tax returns and dealing with HMRC.\n, • Identifying inheritance tax planning opportunities during estate administration.\n, • Preparing estate accounts and arranging distributions.\n, • Dealing with contested estates and Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims where appropriate.\n, • Working closely with accountants, financial advisers, wealth managers, valuers and other professional advisers.\n, • Building strong relationships with high-net-worth clients and professional referrers.\n, • Supporting the continued growth and development of the Private Client team.\nAbout You You will have significant experience in probate and estate administration, ideally with a proven track record of managing complex and high-net-worth estates. You should have:\n\n, • Strong technical knowledge of probate, estate administration, inheritance tax and trusts.\n, • Experience managing a caseload independently from instruction through to completion.\n, • Excellent client care and communication skills.\n, • The ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism, empathy and discretion.\n, • Strong organisational and time-management skills.\n, • A proactive and commercially minded approach to client service.\nYou may be a Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, STEP-qualified practitioner or an experienced probate professional with equivalent experience.
