Novara People are recruiting for an FLT Driver / Laminate Picker to join a well-established and busy distribution business based in Tingley, WF3. Our client is a major supplier of timber, panels, laminates and decorative surface products, supplying customers across the construction, manufacturing and interiors industries. This is a hybrid role combining FLT driving with order picking, so we're looking for someone who is happy to be hands-on rather than spending the full shift on a forklift. Due to the large product range, there is a 3–6 month training period on the day shift before moving permanently onto nights. You'll be trained on the different products, picking processes, locations and systems to ensure you're fully confident before moving onto the night shift. Pay rise when taken perm. Duties Picking laminate products accurately against customer orders Operating an FLT to move and locate stock Picking products both manually and using the FLT Locating the correct products within a large and varied stock range Checking product codes, quantities and specifications carefully Preparing orders ready for dispatch Loading and unloading stock where required Using warehouse systems and paperwork to process orders Handling large and potentially heavy products safely Checking products for damage before dispatch Maintaining accurate stock locations Working at a good pace while maintaining accuracy Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe Following all site health & safety procedures You must be available to work the day shift for the first 3–6 months while completing your training. Once fully trained, you will move onto the permanent Sunday to Thursday, 9:30pm – 6:00am night shift, with an increase in pay. Skills: Previous FLT experience is required Previous picking or warehouse experience Comfortable working in a hybrid FLT and manual picking role Good attention to detail – there is a large product range to learn Confident reading product codes, pick sheets and order information Comfortable with manual handling Reliable and able to work independently Good communication skills Willing to complete 3–6 months of training on the day shift Must be able to permanently work Sunday to Thursday nights once training is
