LOOKING FOR PRIVATE FRENCH AND SPANISH TUTORS We are a small, locally run language school offering classes in French and Spanish to adult learners who are seeking to learn as a hobby. We offer relaxed, fun and sociable classes in small groups. We use a well-structured and professionally designed course, however unlike traditional colleges, our courses do not have heavy writing and grammar components and are intended to appeal to people who would like to take a light-hearted, conversation-based approach to acquiring language skills. Our classes are as much fun for students as they are for the teachers using our delightful, interactive method. We are looking for two to four tutors to teach our French and Spanish classes respectively. This will entail teaching around four evening classes a week in our face to face classes in Swiss Cottage, four morning classes in Hampstead, and potentially four afternoon classes in Camden. Each class is 90 minutes long. The classes will start week 14th September and run for 11 weeks inclusive of a 1 week half term, ending in week 23rd November. Each tutor has the freedom to teach as many classes as they are able to and that are available to teach, as long as they can commit to the full 11 week term per class. The classes will be beginner, improver, intermediate and advanced level. We offer a fully resourced curriculum with clear learner progression. We use a unique teaching method designed by Language for Fun. The tutor will be expected to attend 8 hours of training with the first training session taking place on September 13th. They will also be offered ongoing classroom support over the term. Whilst prior teaching experience is an advantage, it is not essential as our method is comprehensive and provides a simple, easy to follow model for teaching. You do need a lot of passion for the language you’re teaching and a love for sharing the language with others and helping them learn. There will be two monthly social events for French and Spanish respectively which the tutor will also run in October and November. To start September 2026. If you can offer the following we will be interested in talking to you: • Fluent Spanish or French (C1 Level), • Teaching or other relevant experience, preferably a teaching qualification but not essential., • A warm, charismatic, friendly and engaging manner., • Independent worker and some experience working self-employed would be beneficial., • Proactive and determined to help students learn., • Open to learning a new teaching method for teaching languages to adults in a conversation-based way., • Right to work in the UK., • Please note this is on a self-employed basis and students are not eligible for this type of contract under UK employment law so please do not submit an application if you are an international student. About RICO RICO is a luxury cultural magazine redefining what luxury means. Rather than centring celebrity lifestyles or unattainable ideals, we believe luxury lies in people, their heritage, traditions, creativity, resilience, and stories. Our mission is to celebrate cultures, festivals, identities, and communities from every corner of the world through thoughtful journalism, striking photography, and meaningful storytelling. Fashion magazines have long overlooked the richness and diversity of everyday people, often offering representation that feels superficial rather than authentic. RICO exists to change that. We create a space where readers can see themselves reflected with depth and dignity while discovering the cultures and experiences of others. Since launching, we’ve published stories covering celebrations from 35 countries across 6 continents, and our readership has grown to over 1,000 readers in 36 countries worldwide. New articles are published every Friday, and we’re always looking for passionate contributors to help shape the future of the magazine. If you believe every culture deserves to be celebrated and every story deserves to be told beautifully, we’d love to hear from you. The Opportunity We’re looking for volunteer Writers and Photographers from around the world to contribute original editorial content that celebrates culture, identity, fashion, heritage, and global celebrations. Whether you’re sharing traditions from your hometown, documenting a local festival, exploring the history behind a celebration, or telling a personal story connected to your culture, your voice matters. This is a fully remote, flexible role where you’ll collaborate with our editorial team while having the creative freedom to bring fresh perspectives and original ideas. We’re Looking For People Who • Have a passion for storytelling and cultural representation., • Enjoy writing, photography, journalism, fashion, travel, or the arts., • Value authenticity and diverse perspectives., • Are creative, curious, and open-minded., • Can communicate clearly and work independently., • Are able to meet agreed deadlines. Previous publishing experience is welcome but not essential. We value genuine stories and unique perspectives above professional experience. Why Join RICO? As a volunteer contributor, you’ll have the opportunity to: * Be published in an international luxury cultural magazine. * Build your writing or photography portfolio. * Reach a growing global audience. * Develop editorial and storytelling experience. * Connect with an international community of creatives. * Help reshape how editorial media represents people and culture. Most importantly, you’ll help create a magazine where someone, somewhere in the world, can open an article and recognise a piece of themselves. Our Mission At RICO, we believe culture is something to experience through the people who live it. Every tradition has a story. Every celebration has meaning. Every person has something worth sharing. We’re building a magazine where luxury is measured not by exclusivity, but by authenticity, craftsmanship, and human connection. We invite contributors from every background, country, and culture to share the stories they wish they had seen represented in editorial media. Your story could be next. Authentic Storytelling At RICO, authenticity is at the heart of everything we publish. Our magazine exists to celebrate real people, real cultures, and real experiences. We’re not looking for perfectly polished or AI-generated articles; we’re looking for your voice. We therefore ask that contributors do not use AI to write or substantially generate their submissions. While basic tools such as spellcheck or grammar correction are absolutely fine, the ideas, stories, reflections, and writing itself should come from you. Many of our features require little to no formal research. Instead, we encourage contributors to draw from their own experiences, memories, family traditions, communities, and cultural knowledge. Whether you’re writing about a celebration you’ve attended every year since childhood or photographing a local festival that means something to you, your personal perspective is what makes the story valuable. We believe the most meaningful stories are those that can only be told by the people who have lived them.

  • Chemist/Biologist/Biochemist Consultant for Sci-fi Novel
    Chemist/Biologist/Biochemist Consultant for Sci-fi Novel

    Part-time

Hello there. I'm a recent winner of a literary award for my soon to published science fiction novel(s), and I am looking for professionals, specifically in the sciences, to act as consultants. Originally, I had students in mind for this role but anyone with an interest is absolutely welcome to apply — a bonus if you like science-fiction books/film/television! I am hoping this partnership will lead to a lasting relationship in which you will assist me on the full book as well as up coming future works (of which I hope there to be many more of). I will be asking for your help on many weird, wonderful, and speculative subjects in which my creative brain needs someone with an academic mind for some realistic grounding in reality. However, as with all science fiction, creative license is always welcome. To give you an idea of the sort of things I may ask for your expertise on, I am currently looking for help on solidifying the technical biological makeup of an alien hive-parasite organism. I have the entire concept laid out, I know what I want the organism to be and do, I just need a science mind to help solidify the chemical attributes, to write out and explain what the organism is made up of, in a way that makes sense (Is it silicon-cabron based, for instance? People keep telling me it should be but I don't know what the hell that means — help!) Obviously, this is fiction and does not all of have to be based in fact, but it has to sound plausible, and most importantly believable to the audience. If you are not a biologist or biochemist but have expertise, please still apply! If you're based in or around London, it would be great to meet and discuss. Otherwise a call/zoom is fine. I'm aware this job offer is unorthodox, but I'd be happy to offer a payment of flat fee of £50 for this first project.
