Job SummaryAs a Female Community Support Worker at our Learning Disability Nursing Home, youll play a key role in helping the people we support live active, fulfilling and connected lives.Youll lead and coordinate a range of meaningful community activities, one-to-one support and group programmes, helping individuals build confidence, develop skills, pursue their interests and strengthen social connections. From organising day trips and local activities to supporting people to achieve their personal goals, youll ensure that each person has opportunities that reflect their individual choices, needs and aspirations.Youll also provide person-centred personal care and practical support where required, always promoting independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing.As part of the role, youll safely drive the services 7-seater minibus, enabling individuals to access activities and opportunities within their community. Youll be responsible for routine vehicle checks and associated documentation.Working closely with colleagues, families, community organisations and other professionals, youll help create positive experiences and opportunities that make a meaningful difference to the lives of the people we support.This post is open to female applicants only under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, due to the nature of personal care and support required.Hours and PayHours: 16-20 hours on a rota basis, across 7 days a week.Pay: £13.18 per hourKey ResponsibilitesSupport individuals to access meaningful community activities, pursue personal interests and develop independence, confidence, life skills and social connections.Plan, organise and deliver person-centred one-to-one and group activities, outings and community events based on individual needs, preferences and aspirations.Build and maintain positive relationships with community groups, local services and recreational providers to expand opportunities for participation and inclusion.Promote choice, dignity, wellbeing and active involvement in decisions about activities and support.Provide personal care and practical support in accordance with individual care plans, assessed needs and agreed support arrangements.Support the coordination, monitoring and evaluation of activities, contributing to activity planning and continuous service improvement.Safely drive service vehicles, completing required safety checks, mileage and fuel records, and promptly reporting defects or maintenance requirements.Promote individuals safety and wellbeing, following safeguarding procedures, risk assessments and relevant organisational and regulatory requirements.Maintain accurate records, activity documentation and clear communication with individuals, families, colleagues and external professionals.Develop positive, professional relationships while maintaining confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries.Participate in team meetings, supervision, training and continuous professional development.Uphold organisational values and promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the role.Undertake any other duties reasonably required within the scope of the role.Skills & ExperienceMust have:Full UK driving licence and a competent and confident driver, with the ability to safely transport individuals and complete vehicle-related responsibilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with the supported people, families, colleagues, and community partners.A person-centred approach, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a commitment to promoting choice, dignity, and independence.Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan and coordinate activities, outings, and community engagement opportunities.Confidence working independently and taking responsibility for leading activities and supporting individuals in the community.Ability to remain calm, resilient, and professional when responding to changing needs or challenging situations.Reliable, motivated, and flexible, with a willingness to work as part of a team and support service needs.Strong record-keeping and administrative skills, ensuring documentation is completed accurately and on time.Desirable:Experience supporting people with learning disabilities.Awareness of safeguarding, mental capacity, and health & safety principles.Experience working in inclusive, values-led environments.Experience driving a minibus or larger passenger vehicle, including transporting people safely within community settings.BenefitsPaid training and access to a wide variety of vocational learning and development opportunities.Funded Blue Light Card which gives access to over 15,000 discounts both online and in-store.Supportive, values-led culture.Opportunity to develop your career in social care.28 days full time equivalent holidays each year, including bank holidays.Eligible WorkersWe are unable to offer sponsorship for this position.
