About Us We are a new, small, quality-led provider opening a 2 /3 bed children's home in Enfield for children aged 6-17 years with Learning Disabilities, Autism and communication needs. We will open with 1 child for the first 3 months to ensure safe settling, relationship building and quality embedding, then build to 2 children with a potential to scale up to three. Our approach is low arousal, communication first (Makaton/PECS/intensive interaction), PBS, PACE and child-centred care. We are not a large corporate - you will be supported directly by our experienced Responsible Individual. 2. Job Purpose Lead in Ofsted registration interview and thereafter be the Ofsted Registered Manager, accountable for the day-to-day management of the home in line with Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards 2023. To ensure children with LD experience a safe, low arousal, homely environment where their communication, sensory, health and independence needs are met and they achieve positive outcomes. To lead, inspire and develop staff team to Good/Outstanding. 3. Key Responsibilities · Ofsted Registration & Quality: Act as Registered Manager, meet Reg 28/29 fitness, lead fit person interview and registration visit. Ensure compliance with Reg 26-45 and Quality Standards: Quality & Purpose, Positive Relationships, Protection, Leadership & Management. · Leadership: Lead, supervise and roster staff team. Complete supervisions, appraisals, team meetings, competency checks. Ensure 12-week rota shows staff names, exact shift times, contracted hours, annual leave, training, supervision, sleep/waking nights, bank cover and total weekly hours - Ofsted requirement for 1 child model and 2 / 3 child scaling. · Low Arousal Environment: Create and maintain low arousal home - lighting, noise, colours, zoning, sensory corner, predictable routines, visual timetables Now/Next, 10 seconds processing time, one instruction. · Communication First: Ensure every child has Communication Passport, sensory profile, health action plan. All staff trained and using Makaton, PECS, objects of reference, intensive interaction, total communication. · PBS: Lead Positive Behaviour Support - functional assessment, early signs, de-escalation, change of face, restraint only last resort, reduction plan. No punishment approach. · Care Planning: Personalised care plans, risk assessments, impact risk assessments for new referrals, compatibility assessment for second / third child, health plans with Community LD Team, SALT, OT, epilepsy, dysphagia management. · Multi-Agency: Work with LAs (Enfield, Haringey, Barnet), schools, families, Reg 44 Independent Visitor, PBS consultant. 24hr response to referrals. · Safeguarding: Designated Safeguarding Lead for home, LADO referrals, safer recruitment, whistleblowing culture. · Financial & Operations: Manage budget for 1 child then 2 /3 children, occupancy building, staffing costs, petty cash, premises maintenance, vehicle, activities. · Quality Monitoring: Complete Reg 45 monthly review, work with Reg 44 visitor, action plans, Ofsted notifications, complaints, compliments. · On-call: Participate in on-call rota for staff support, especially nights/weekends. 4. Person Specification - Ofsted Requirements Essential - Must Have (Ofsted Reg 28/29) · Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) OR Level 4 with commitment to complete Level 5 within 2 years. Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent minimum. · Experience: At least 2 years working in children's residential care in last 5 years, including at least 1 year in senior/supervisory/management role.     Job Summary Waking Night Support worker / Carer to join a lovely team around a friendly 19 year old teenager who has epilepsy, non verbal autism, movement disorder and additional health needs. He lives at home with his family and friendly dog. Training rate will be £16 and after training this will increase to £17. This ideally is a self-employed position (UTR number required). Or because of Visa requirements through and agency. Minimum of 26 hours per week. But can also be full time at 37 hours + per week. (It can not be on a 20 hour basis). Please read complete ad before applying - so you understand the requirements. When contacting us please write at least a few sentence why you are applying and why you would be suitable and what your experience is. Please in your own works and not AI. Thank you. About the position Weekly hours minimum 26 hours. We are looking for someone to take on 2 regular waking nights (13hr each night shift so in total 26 hours) It would be Sunday and Monday nights or alternatively Thursday and Friday nights. These shifts are from 20.00 - 09.00 sole charge (but with parents in house). These shifts are only sole charge after extensive training. These are strictly waking nights in the family home. More weekly hours are possible often but not less hours. This position could become a full time position after the summer or in Winter if this would suit you. After successful training the rate increases from £16 to £17 per hours. Per night shift: £221 after training. Bank holidays double rate. Ideally is a self-employed position with UTR number - no PAYE. This would suit a student of a relevant health related subject. But if PAYE is required (VISA requirement then this would either be through an agency (0 hour contract or time limited contract). Candidate would need to be able to commit to 12 months minimum. About the young person who needs support: The young man needs someone to spot seizures or other health emergencies and if needed call the parents who are in the same house. The monitoring is with seizure video monitor and heart rate monitor and regular in person checks. These nights sometimes can be quite active - as if he has a seizure he might have to be accompanied via ambulance to A&E. Good written and spoken English is a must as you often would have to communicate with health professionals and write reports after each shift. All training is during the day first through shadowing. About you: This position will suit someone who ideally has already worked with autistic and disabled adults and has already experience. But it is very different from working in a care home. We would be able to train you in personal care, intermittent catheterisation, medication administration, peristeen (TAI) and positive behaviour support and other essential skills - if you are a suitable candidate. His environment will need to be kept clean and tidy (it is not a cleaner position but to ensure that his environment stays tidy, safe and fit for purpose). You will help with his laundry too.     Job Summary Waking Night Support worker / Carer to join a lovely team around a friendly 19 year old teenager who has epilepsy, non verbal autism, movement disorder and additional health needs. He lives at home with his family and friendly dog. Training rate will be £16 and after training this will increase to £17. This is a self-employed position (UTR number required).
