Clerk of Works / NEC Supervisor \n Shrewsbury, Shropshire | Major Healthcare Project | Construction Consultancy \n A leading independent construction and property consultancy is looking for an experienced Clerk of Works / NEC Supervisor to join its team in Shrewsbury, working on a significant hospital development. \n This is an excellent opportunity for a Clerk of Works / NEC Supervisor to play an important role in the delivery of a large-scale healthcare project, providing an on-site presence and ensuring works are completed in accordance with the contract, drawings, specifications and required quality standards. \n The Clerk of Works / NEC Supervisor Role \n The successful clerk will be responsible for monitoring the quality and progress of construction works on site, identifying defects or non-compliant works and ensuring these are appropriately recorded and addressed. \n Key responsibilities will include: \n\n • Carrying out regular site inspections throughout the construction programme\n, • Monitoring workmanship, materials and construction quality\n, • Ensuring works comply with drawings, specifications and contractual requirements\n, • Undertaking duties associated with the NEC Supervisor role\n, • Identifying and recording defects, non-compliance and areas of concern\n, • Producing clear and detailed inspection reports\n, • Maintaining accurate photographic and written site records\n, • Monitoring progress against the agreed construction programme\n, • Attending project, progress and site meetings\n, • Liaising with contractors, consultants, client representatives and other stakeholders\n, • Supporting the wider project team in resolving quality and technical issues\n, • Ensuring relevant testing and inspections are undertaken and appropriately recorded\n, • Monitoring health and safety observations and escalating concerns where appropriate\n, • Supporting the successful handover and completion of the project\n\n The Clerk of Works / NEC Supervisor \n The successful candidate will ideally have: \n\n • Previous experience working as a Clerk of Works, NEC Supervisor, Site Inspector or in a similar construction quality role\n, • ICWCI or MCIOB\n, • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and workmanship\n, • Experience working on large or technically complex construction projects\n, • A good understanding of NEC contracts, ideally including previous experience undertaking NEC Supervisor duties\n, • Excellent attention to detail\n, • Strong written reporting and record-keeping skills\n, • Previous experience working on healthcare, hospital or other major public-sector construction projects would be particularly advantageous.\n\n In Return? \n Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 \n\n • Company pension scheme\n, • Professional membership fees paid\n, • Structured training and personal development\n, • CPD courses and support towards professional qualifications\n, • Clear long-term career development plan\n, • Bi-annual career and progression reviews\n, • Opportunities for promotion and role diversification\n, • Private healthcare\n, • Death-in-service benefit\n, • Supportive and sociable Birmingham-based team\n, • Regular team events and social activities\n\n If you are a Clerk of Works considering your career opportunities, please contact Megan Cole at Brandon James. \n REF: 22747MC
