This is a multi-skilled role spanning electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automation systems, so you will fault-find and repair everything from motors and drives to PLCs and control panels. Beyond keeping the plant running, you will help improve it, supporting the commissioning of new machinery, driving reliability and getting stuck into continuous improvement. If you take pride in solving problems others cannot and keeping a busy operation moving, this role will stretch you in the right ways.Job ResponsibilitiesCarrying out preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systemsFault-finding and repairing equipment including PLCs, sensors, motors, drives and control panelsResponding to breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime and keep production lines runningProviding hands-on technical support to production teams and resolving bottlenecksSupporting the installation, commissioning and validation of new machinery and automation systemsInterpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams and P&IDs to install and repair equipment correctlyImproving equipment reliability and performance, including OEE, MTBF and MTTRGetting involved in continuous improvement work such as Lean, Kaizen, TPM and 5SMaintaining accurate maintenance records and work orders on the CMMS systemFollowing LOTO, risk assessments and safe working practices, and promoting a safety-first cultureHelping manage critical spares and keeping key parts availableSharing knowledge and supporting apprentices and junior engineersSkills and ExperienceTo succeed as a Maintenance Engineer you will need:Proven multi-skilled maintenance experience, typically three to five years or more, in a manufacturing or industrial environmentStrong fault-finding and repair skills across both electrical and mechanical disciplinesWorking knowledge of PLCs, ideally SiemensCompetence across pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, sensors, drives and control systemsExperience with automated production lines and PLC-controlled equipmentThe ability to read and update electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and technical manualsA time-served apprenticeship or equivalent, with an ONC, HNC or NVQ Level 3 or higher in an engineering discipline18th Edition (IET Wiring Regulations) certification, which is preferredExperience of preventive and predictive maintenance and CMMS systemsExposure to Lean, TPM or continuous improvement work, which is desirableA willingness to work a three-shift patternA self-motivated, safety-focused and methodical approachPay and BenefitsAs a Maintenance Engineer you will receive:A base salary of £50,676 per yearShift premiums on top of your base salaryKPI-based bonusesOvertime availableA three-shift pattern, with early, late and night shifts starting at 6am, 2pm and 10pmThe chance to work with modern equipment in a business investing in new technologyReady to apply?Multi-skilled engineers who can cover electrical, mechanical and automation work are in short supply and high demand.
