Secondary School Music Teacher Location: Enfield, North London Contract: Full-time, Long-term Temporary Start Date: 8 September 2026 Salary: £40,372–£59,864 per annum (M1–UPS3) Email: About the Role Teach Now is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join a secondary school in Enfield and help make music an active and visible part of school life. You will teach Music across KS3 and KS4, combining practical performance, composition, listening and musical theory. The school is looking for a teacher who can engage students with a wide variety of musical backgrounds and encourage both experienced musicians and complete beginners to participate confidently. There may also be opportunities to contribute to performances, ensembles, clubs and wider enrichment. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons across KS3 and KS4. Teach performance, composition, listening and theoretical skills. Prepare GCSE Music students effectively for assessments. Support students using classroom instruments and music technology. Encourage participation from pupils with different levels of musical experience. Organise resources and maintain a purposeful practical environment. Contribute to concerts, performances or enrichment activities where appropriate. Work collaboratively within the wider creative arts team. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status. Degree or relevant specialist qualification in Music. Experience teaching secondary Music. Ability to demonstrate strong practical musicianship. Knowledge of GCSE Music requirements. Confident classroom-management and organisational skills. Experience with music technology would be an advantage. The School Can Offer A department where practical and creative learning is valued.
