NegotiableCoventry, England Permanent Our client, a leader in the aerospace sector, is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This is a pivotal role in supporting the design, manufacture, and delivery of aerospace products that meet stringent customer and regulatory requirements. You will play a crucial part in developing, implementing, and continuously improving quality systems, processes, and tools, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance throughout the product lifecycle.Main Duties:Govern key business metrics demonstrating compliance to AS9100/AS13100/ISO9001, customer, and regulatory requirementsConduct Layered Process Audits (LPA), Product and Process audits to industry standards (e.g. ISO9001, AS9100/9110/9120, CAA, EASA etc.)Review First Article Inspection Reports to AS9102Identify and mitigate quality risks throughout the value stream, ensuring product safety and reliabilityEnsure accurate and timely documentation of quality records, inspection reports, and compliance evidence as per aerospace industry requirementsProvide quality support to the value stream(s)Ensure containment for concerns are implemented and drive root cause, corrective actions using effective problem resolution methodologies such as 8DsMaintain, analyse, and drive performance of key quality metrics (e.g., First Pass Yield, defect rates, audit findings) across the value streamLead quality performance improvement initiatives internally and externallyRoll-out and support the implementation of the Zero-Defect programme to reduce DPPMActively engaged in Kaizen eventsDrive quality performance and compliance, meeting aerospace standards and regulatory/customer requirementsConduct assurance and maintain the Business Management System (BMS) in line with AS9100, AS13100, and regulatory standardsOversee incoming quality to ensure materials meet specifications, supporting supplier performance through collaboration, risk assessment, and problem-solvingMonitor and report quality metrics, using data to drive corrective actionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issuesAddress customer quality concerns promptly to maintain satisfaction and trustJob Requirements:Essential:Working knowledge and experience of Part 21 subpart G, ISO9001, AS9100, and AS9102Ability to read and interpret regulations, airworthiness directives, and technical specificationsComprehensive understanding of and ability to read engineering drawings and specificationsAwareness of human factors principles, just culture, management system requirements, and applicable regulationsRelevant work experience in aeronautical or equivalent industriesRelevant engineering or technical degree, or equivalent qualification acceptable to the competent authorityKnowledge of relevant aircraft or components from training courses or on-the-job experienceExperience in problem resolution processes such as A3 or 8D and Root Cause Analysis toolsProficient in APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, Root Cause analysisProven experience and success in Continuous Improvement best practices, such as Lean, Six SigmaSAP or similar MRP system experienceIT literateDesirable:AS/EN/JISQ 9100 Lead Auditor CertifiedComprehensive knowledge of part 21/part 145 and AS9100/AS13100Knowledge and experience in Safety Management SystemsExtensive experience in a similar role within the Aerospace or Automotive industriesUnderstanding of Calibration systemsIf you are a proactive and experienced Quality Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile aerospace projects, we would love to hear from you.
