Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a large and highly successful service-based business that is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to join its FP&A team on a fully remote basis. \n Reporting directly to the Head of FP&A, this is a key role responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timely delivery of financial information, with a particular focus on income, payroll costs and balance sheet reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong financial accounting background who enjoys getting into the detail, improving processes and working collaboratively with both finance and operational teams. \n Benefits will include: - \n\n • Salary up to £52,000\n, • Fully remote working\n, • 25 days holiday + stats \n, • Company pension\n\n As Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in the month-end and period-close process, ensuring income and payroll-related costs are accurately reflected in the management accounts. Duties will include: - \n\n • Maintain the financial integrity and accuracy of income-related actuals.\n, • Lead the period-close process for income and payroll-related areas.\n, • Review income completeness, trends and exceptions, resolving issues promptly.\n, • Prepare and review accruals, journals and accounting adjustments.\n, • Support the accurate accounting of payroll costs and salary-related accruals.\n, • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including deferred income and income provisions.\n, • Investigate income and payroll-related variances and accounting queries.\n, • Provide finance support to budget holders, commissioners and internal stakeholders.\n, • Provide cover for the Income Analyst when required, ensuring billing, income processing and cash collection continue smoothly.\n, • Identify the root causes of recurring issues and introduce improvements to achieve a 'right first time' approach.\n, • Work with the Payroll team to ensure salary costs are accurately recognised and allocated.\n, • Support the preparation of statutory accounts and provide high-quality audit working papers and evidence.\n, • Respond to audit queries and support the implementation of audit recommendations.\n, • Contribute to ongoing process improvements, reducing manual intervention at month and year end.\n\n To be successful, you will ideally have the following skills and experiences: - \n\n • A professional accounting qualification or be actively studying towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA.\n, • Experience within a practice environment would be highly desirable \n, • A strong understanding of income recognition, accruals, deferred income and provisions.\n, • Experience with payroll-related accounting and salary accruals.\n, • Strong experience of balance sheet reconciliations and period-end close.\n, • Experience supporting operational finance processes such as billing, payroll or income analysis.\n, • Previous experience supporting year-end and external audit processes.\n, • Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of financial controls.\n, • Strong Excel and finance systems experience.\n, • The ability to organise and prioritise effectively against tight month-end deadlines.\n, • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.\n, • A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.\n\n If you're looking for a fully remote Financial Accountant role where you can take ownership, add value and develop within a successful business, please send in your CV today!
