Atlas NextWave is supporting a leading international subsea engineering and offshore installation contractor in the search for an experienced Principal Engineer (Subsea Developments) to join their growing Front-End Engineering team. \n \n This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior subsea professional who is already operating in a similar Principal, Lead or Senior Subsea Development Engineering position and enjoys shaping projects from feasibility through concept selection and FEED. \n \n Working across a diverse portfolio of global offshore developments, you will play a key role in developing technically robust, commercially viable subsea field solutions while engaging directly with clients and multidisciplinary project teams. \n \n \n The Opportunity \n \n As Principal Engineer, you will lead and support: \n\n • Feasibility, concept select and FEED studies for offshore developments\n, • Development of subsea field architecture and SURF solutions\n, • Technical evaluation of development options and execution strategies\n, • Client engagement and technical leadership throughout study phases\n, • Tender support and preparation of engineering work scopes\n, • Development of installation, fabrication and execution philosophies\n, • Input to project schedules, cost estimates and delivery strategies\n, • Technical reporting and presentation of study outcomes to stakeholders\n\n \n \n What We're Looking For \n \n Our client is particularly interested in speaking with candidates who bring a combination of the following experience: \n \n Essential / Highly Desirable \n\n • Current or recent experience in a Principal, Lead or Senior Subsea Development Engineering role\n, • Strong background delivering feasibility, concept and FEED studies\n, • Extensive experience within SURF developments\n, • Proven experience with flexible pipe systems\n, • Strong understanding of flexible pipe upheaval buckling assessments and mitigation\n, • Experience supporting spool design and fabrication\n, • Background working for a recognised engineering consultancy or design house\n, • Ability to develop and assess multiple field development concepts\n, • Client-facing experience with responsibility for presenting technical recommendations\n, • Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline\n\n \n Additional Experience of Interest \n\n • Installation engineering awareness\n, • Subsea field layout development\n, • EPCI project exposure\n, • Offshore execution strategy development\n, • Cost and schedule input for early-phase developments\n, • Decommissioning, integrity management or IRM experience\n\n \n \n The Individual \n \n You will be: \n\n • Technically credible and confident engaging with clients\n, • Commercially aware with a solutions-focused mindset\n, • Comfortable leading multidisciplinary engineering studies\n, • A strong communicator able to influence technical and commercial decisions\n, • Passionate about delivering safe, practical and optimised subsea solutions\n, • Motivated by working in a collaborative, fast-paced project environment\n\n \n Why Apply? \n\n • Join a highly respected international subsea contractor\n, • Work on complex offshore developments across global markets\n, • Influence projects at the earliest stages where engineering decisions create the greatest value\n, • Take ownership of technically challenging studies and client engagements\n, • Be part of a collaborative and entrepreneurial engineering culture\n\n
