Due to continued growth, our client is looking for an experienced Working Foreman / Supervisor to join their busy Glasgow-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served Fabricator/Welder with proven leadership experience to take on a key hands-on role within a fast-paced marine fabrication and shipbuilding environment. The Role As a Working Foreman / Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading day-to-day workshop and site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Key responsibilities include: Hands-on fabrication, welding and assembly work Leading and supervising a skilled workshop team Coordinating daily workloads and allocating resources Interpreting engineering and technical drawings Supporting vessel repair, refit and shipbuilding projects Ensuring quality standards and workmanship requirements are met Conducting toolbox talks and promoting a strong safety culture Managing materials, tools and workshop organisation Supporting on-site work on vessels, quaysides and dry docks when required Liaising with customers and supporting project delivery Mentoring team members and encouraging skills developmentYou will play a key role in maintaining productivity, quality and health and safety standards while contributing to the successful delivery of marine engineering projects. Essential Requirements Time-served Fabricator/Welder (SVQ Level 3 or equivalent) Strong fabrication and welding experience (MIG, TIG and Stick) Proven supervisory, team-leading or foreman experience Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Experience within workshop and site-based fabrication environments Good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work Full UK Driving Licence Desirable Marine, shipbuilding or vessel repair experience Experience leading multi-skilled teams on time-critical projects CSCS, SSSTS or Confined Space certification What's on Offer Competitive salary Regular overtime opportunities 28 days holiday, increasing with length of service Long-term career stability Career progression opportunities The chance to work on varied marine, shipbuilding and vessel repair projectsIf you are a hands-on fabrication professional with strong leadership skills and experience working in demanding engineering environments, we would be keen to hear from you
