Job Title: Plumber / General Maintenance TechnicianLocationKirkintillochEmployment TypeFull-Time / PermanentWorking hours 830am - 430pmMonday to Friday (overtime available)Hourly pay £15 per hour or DOE (paid door to door)Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber / General Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out plumbing repairs, preventative maintenance, and general building maintenance across residential, commercial, or industrial properties. The role requires a hands-on individual with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.Key ResponsibilitiesPlumbing DutiesInstall, repair, and maintain water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems.Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, faulty pipework, and plumbing fixtures.Install and maintain boilers, water heaters, taps, toilets, sinks, and related equipment.Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plumbing systems.Respond promptly to emergency plumbing issues.General Maintenance DutiesPerform routine building maintenance and repairs.Carry out basic carpentry, painting, decorating, and handyman tasks.Replace and repair fixtures, fittings, doors, locks, and flooring when required.Undertake minor electrical maintenance such as replacing bulbs, switches, and sockets (within competency and regulations).Maintain plant rooms, utility areas, and building services equipment.Compliance & SafetyEnsure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety regulations.Maintain accurate maintenance records and job reports.Use tools, equipment, and materials safely and responsibly.Identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.Adhere to company policies and industry standards.Essential RequirementsQualificationsRecognised Plumbing Qualification (NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, SVQ, or equivalent).Full UK Driving Licence.ExperienceMinimum 2 years' experience in plumbing maintenance.Experience in general building maintenance.Proven ability to diagnose and repair plumbing faults.Experience working independently and managing workloads.Skills & CompetenciesStrong plumbing and maintenance knowledge.Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Good communication and customer service skills.Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals.Basic IT literacy for reporting and record keeping.Desirable RequirementsGas Safe Registration.Legionella awareness training.Experience within facilities management, Retail, hospitality, or property maintenance.IPAF, PASMA, or other relevant maintenance certifications.First Aid certification.Key Personal AttributesReliable and dependable.Positive and proactive attitude.Strong attention to detail.Flexible approach to work.Team player with the ability to work independently.Professional appearance and manner.Working HoursStandard working hours: [40 hours per week 830-16:30] 1.5 rate anytime outwithPaid Travel Door to DoorParticipation in an on-call rota may be required.Overtime may be available as required.Salary & BenefitsCompetitive salary: £15 p/hCompany VanCompany pension schemeHoliday entitlementTraining and career development opportunitiesUniform providedIf you have the skills we are looking for, please submit your CV and I will be in touch.Blue Arrow is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer and is committed to helping find great work opportunities for great people.TPBN1_UKTJ
