Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager \n\n • Annual Salary: £45,000-£55,000\n, • Location: Lancaster\n, • Job Type: Full-time\n\n We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to lead EH&S strategy at a manufacturing facility in Lancaster. This role is ideal for a seasoned EH&S professional who is passionate about fostering a positive safety culture and leading environmental compliance and continuous improvement initiatives. \n Day-to-day of the role: \n\n • Lead the site's Environmental, Health & Safety Management Systems.\n, • Drive a proactive safety culture across the business.\n, • Manage compliance with environmental permits and legislation.\n, • Act as the site's primary contact with the Environment Agency and other regulatory bodies.\n, • Support and develop departmental Risk Assessors and oversee the digital risk assessment programme.\n, • Facilitate the site EH&S Committee, ensuring effective employee consultation, monitoring actions, and driving continuous improvement.\n, • Lead accident, incident, and environmental investigations to ensure effective corrective actions.\n, • Manage internal EH&S audits, external inspections, and certification activities.\n, • Monitor EH&S performance and report meaningful KPIs to the leadership team.\n, • Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance and sustainability.\n, • Provide practical advice, coaching, and training to managers and employees.\n, • Support operational teams to deliver their products safely.\n\n Required Skills & Qualifications: \n\n • Degree in Occupational Environmental, Health & Safety Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or a minimum NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6 National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals) or equivalent Level 6 qualification.\n, • At least 5 years of experience in an EH&S management role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.\n, • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.\n, • Experience managing Environmental Permit compliance and environmental management systems.\n, • Proven track record of liaising with regulatory bodies, including the Environment Agency.\n, • Demonstrated experience in leading EH&S audits, investigations, and continuous improvement programmes.\n, • Ability to influence managers and engage employees to develop a positive safety culture.\n, • Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.\n, • Proficiency in Microsoft packages, Power BI, Power Apps, or other digital EH&S management systems.\n\n Desirable: \n\n • Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards Chartered status.\n, • IEMA Practitioner or equivalent environmental qualification.\n, • ISO 14001 Internal or Lead Auditor qualification.\n, • Experience with ISO 45001 management systems.\n, • Experience managing digital EH&S platforms and data-driven performance reporting.\n\n Benefits: \n\n • A key leadership position with the opportunity to influence business decisions.\n, • A well-established EH&S framework to build upon.\n, • Close collaboration with operational and senior leadership teams.\n, • A commitment to improving both safety performance and environmental sustainability.\n\n To apply for this EH&S Manager position, please submit your CV and cover letter detailing your relevant experience and why you are interested in this role.
