A long-established legal practice with offices in and around the North West of England is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join its friendly, professional team. This is a varied role where you'll help keep the Finance Department running smoothly while ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules. As this is a maternity cover position, there may also be opportunities to support wider office administration and operational tasks where required. \n Responsibilities of the legal cashier role may include: \n\n • Processing client and office account receipts and payments\n, • Carrying out daily bank reconciliations\n, • Processing CHAPS & BACS payments\n, • Managing client-to-office transfers\n, • Processing supplier invoices and office account payments\n, • Assisting with billing and office account invoices\n, • Assisting with debt recovery and credit control, including monitoring outstanding balances and following up overdue payments\n, • Maintaining accurate financial records\n, • Supporting month-end finance processes.\n, • Liaising with fee earners and colleagues regarding financial transactions and account queries\n, • Assisting with compliance and audit requirements\n, • Providing general administrative and operational support where required\n, • Supporting the day-to-day running of the office and assisting with office management tasks as appropriate during the maternity cover period\n, • Undertaking other duties that are reasonably commensurate with the role to support the needs of the business.\n\n Requirements of the Legal Cashier role: \n\n • Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm\n, • A good working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules\n, • Experience using legal accounts or practice management software\n, • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy\n, • Strong organisational and time management skills\n, • A positive, flexible and team-focused approach\n, • An ILFM Diploma for Legal Cashiers (or an equivalent legal accounts qualification) would be an advantage but is not essential.\n\n Benefits of the Legal Cashier role: \n\n • A welcoming, friendly and supportive working environment\n, • The opportunity to join an established and respected local law firm\n, • Office-based role\n, • Workplace pension\n, • Free on-site parking\n, • Holiday entitlement in line with company policy\n, • Ongoing support to help you settle into the role.\n
