The team has a strong reputation for delivering practical, commercially focused advice that helps clients make informed business decisions.What You'll Be Doing:You'll provide high-quality employment law advice via telephone and email across a broad range of workplace matters, including:Disciplinary and grievance issuesGross misconductWhistleblowingRedundancy exercisesTUPETrade union and industrial relations mattersEmployment Rights Act developmentsGender pay gap reportingEmployment contracts and workplace policiesGeneral employment law complianceYou'll also:Build trusted relationships with clients and senior stakeholdersReview employment documentation and case paperworkDraft clear, practical and legally accurate written adviceManage your workload in line with agreed service levelsKeep up to date with employment law developments and legislative changesWork collaboratively with colleagues across Markel LawWhat We're Looking For:EssentialQualified Solicitor or Barrister in a UK jurisdictionEmployment law experience gained in private practice, in-house, advisory or during a training contract seatStrong employment law knowledgeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to explain legal concepts clearly and commerciallyStrong customer service approachConfidence advising clients by telephone and emailStrong drafting and document review skillsDesirablePrevious employment advice line experienceExperience supporting HR professionals and senior stakeholdersExperience advising larger corporate organisationsPublic sector employment law experienceWorking PatternThis is a full-time permanent position.
