About Us At Aspire Care & Support, we believe every child deserves a safe, stable and loving home where they feel genuinely valued. Ashton House is a small, two-bed children's residential home in Hunts Cross, Liverpool, where we provide trauma-informed, relational care built on warmth, consistency and trust. We're not driven by targets or numbers — we're driven by doing right by the children in our care. Our approach is rooted in PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy) and Motivational Interviewing techniques, underpinned by a genuinely non-judgemental, listening-led way of working. If that sounds like the kind of team you want to be part of, we'd love to hear from you. About the Role We're looking for a caring, resilient and dependable Residential Support Worker to join our small team at Ashton House. You'll provide day-to-day care, support and guidance to the children living with us, helping them feel safe, understood and able to thrive — whether that's through everyday routines, shared activities, or simply being a calm, consistent presence they can rely on. No two days are the same. You might be helping with homework, cooking dinner together, supporting a young person to a health appointment, or just being there for a chat. What matters most is that you bring patience, empathy and a genuine desire to make a positive difference. What You'll Be Doing • Providing warm, consistent, trauma-informed care to children and young people, in line with their individual care and placement plans, • Building trusting relationships using PACE and Motivational Interviewing techniques as part of a relational approach, • Supporting daily routines — mealtimes, school, activities, appointments and bedtimes, • Acting as a positive role model and, where allocated, a key worker to a young person, • Keeping accurate, timely records in line with our policies and Ofsted requirements, • Working closely with colleagues, the Registered Manager, and external professionals (social workers, education, health) as part of the wider team around the child, • Promoting each child's safety, wellbeing, and their voice in decisions that affect them, • Taking part in regular supervision, team meetings and reflective practice What We're Looking For • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people, • Patience, resilience and a calm, level-headed approach, • Good communication skills and a team player attitude, • Willingness to work towards (or already hold) a relevant qualification, such as the Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare, • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and occasional sleep-ins, on a rota basis, • A full, valid UK driving licence is desirable but not essential Previous experience in residential childcare is welcomed but not essential — if you've got the right values and attitude, we will invest in developing your skills.
