Job Title: Experienced Caretaker for Residential Building Position Details • Salary: £16.00 per hour, • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, • Job Type: Full-time About the Role We are looking for a reliable, proactive, and hard-working Caretaker to ensure our residential building is safe, clean, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and have previous experience in building maintenance and daily groundskeeping. Key Responsibilities • Collecting and removing rubbish and recycling bins from all individual flats., • General cleaning and daily upkeep of all communal areas (hallways, lobbies, stairwells)., • Basic gardening and outdoor maintenance to keep the building's exterior looking neat., • Performing routine building maintenance and minor handyman repairs., • Monitoring building security and promptly reporting any major faults or hazards., • Assisting with other general caretaking and facilities duties as required. Requirements • Proven previous experience working as a caretaker, groundskeeper, or in a similar property maintenance role., • Practical hands-on skills in basic maintenance, cleaning, and gardening., • Physically fit and capable of managing active daily duties, including lifting bins and manual labour., • Highly reliable, punctual, and capable of managing your own daily schedule independently., • Friendly and approachable demeanour for interacting politely with building residents. Main duties include: • Carrying out regular inspections of all communal areas, including entrances, hallways, stairwells, lifts, bin stores, and external areas, to ensure they are clean, safe, and in good condition., • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout the building, including light cleaning duties where required., • Monitoring the building's condition and promptly reporting any maintenance issues, repairs, damage, leaks, or health and safety concerns to the property management team., • Ensuring fire exits, corridors, and communal walkways are kept clear at all times and comply with safety regulations., • Managing refuse and recycling areas, including moving bins for collection, keeping bin stores tidy, and ensuring waste is disposed of correctly., • Providing access to contractors and supervising works where necessary to ensure they are carried out safely and efficiently., • Assisting with deliveries and ensuring parcels are handled appropriately where required., • Acting as a point of contact for residents, responding to queries in a polite, professional, and helpful manner., • Promptly reporting any incidents, security concerns, or unusual activity to management., • Supporting the building's overall upkeep, safety, and smooth operation on a daily basis.
