Job Description We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to provide services to preschool-aged children with developmental disabilities in a collaborative, multidisciplinary educational setting. Therapy services are delivered within developmentally appropriate, play-based classrooms and focus on helping children maximize their gross motor skills, mobility, and overall functional independence.Schedule & Assignment Details • Immediate Start, • Summer Schedule: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM, • Part-Time: 2–4 days per week, • Assignment runs through the end of the summer session on August 14, • 2026–2027 School Year: Begins September 2, • Full-Time: 4–5 days per week, • Schedule: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PMResponsibilities, • Conduct evaluations and assessments of gross motor development, including:, • Range of motion, • Flexibility, • Posture, • Muscle strength, • Spinal alignment, • Muscle tone and reflexes, • Balance and protective responses, • Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized physical therapy interventions., • Create and implement strategies to support students' gross motor goals within the educational environment., • Document services and student progress through attendance records, progress notes, and annual reviews., • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to incorporate therapeutic strategies into daily classroom routines., • Prepare and maintain treatment areas and equipment., • Demonstrate and utilize therapeutic techniques, including manual handling, guarding, facilitation, and ambulation training., • Observe and formally assess students using standardized assessment tools., • Participate in the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)., • Communicate regularly with families and interdisciplinary team members regarding student progress and therapeutic goals., • Attend team meetings, professional development activities, and training workshops., • Train families and caregivers on the use of orthotic, prosthetic, and adaptive equipment as needed., • Recommend and implement classroom adaptations to support students' physical needs., • Safely assist, motivate, and guide students during therapeutic exercises and functional activities., • Provide therapeutic exercise and manual intervention techniques as appropriate.Qualifications, • Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE-accredited program., • Current New York State Physical Therapist license and registration., • Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably preschool-aged children., • Ability to meet the physical demands of working with young children, including lifting, bending, kneeling, running, and assisting with mobility activities., • Strong communication and collaboration skills., • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.Preferred Experience, • Experience working in school-based, early intervention, or preschool special education settings., • Knowledge of integrated or transdisciplinary therapy models., • Familiarity with IEP development and educational team collaboration. #ITTHR Pandologic.
