Job Description A national labor and employment law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant for its Memphis, Tennessee office. This position will provide administrative and legal support to attorneys handling employment-related civil defense litigation in state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation legal assistant experience, excellent organizational and proofreading skills, and the ability to manage busy attorney desks, deadlines, and court filings. Responsibilities • Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to assigned attorneys, including managing correspondence, emails, phone calls, calendars, and deadlines., • Prepare, format, revise, and proofread pleadings, correspondence, discovery documents, and other legal materials., • File documents electronically with state and federal courts and maintain familiarity with court rules, procedures, and filing deadlines., • Maintain attorney calendars and docket important case deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other appointments., • Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, meetings, and other case-related activities., • Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, vendors, and other outside parties., • Organize and maintain electronic client and matter files within the firm's document management system., • Assist attorneys with preparation for hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials., • Prepare and process attorney expense reports and assist with time entry as needed., • Work with the firm's billing team to assist with the preparation and release of client bills., • Manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and professionalism. Qualifications • Minimum of 4 years of litigation legal assistant experience, preferably within a defense litigation practice., • Experience supporting attorneys in state and federal court litigation; knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure preferred., • Ability to type at least 65 WPM., • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree is a plus., • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook., • Experience with e-filing, time-entry software, and electronic document management systems., • Strong proofreading, grammar, formatting, and written communication skills., • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines., • Dependable, proactive, flexible, and comfortable working in a fast-paced law firm environment., • Professional and team-oriented with a positive, service-focused approach. #IND
